Owner of "Anticables" and dealer for Spatial Audio is an amazing guy I have sedan Anticables in my home systems for multiple years - speaker wire, ICs, and power cables to my Krell integrated amps. Great service - great value for the monies spent. I have heard a sonic improvement with every upgrade. I would recomme...
OMG - I am just investigating ‘tweaks’ to improve my audio system. Thanks - apparently someone on the old thread thought I was going to disassemble my Krell integrated and electrocute myself. I will probably go ahead and use the less expensive silver inserts and jumper for the Magnapans from Mike Powell audio.
Magnepan Mods Ozymandias - if the wire is delaminating I am afraid you are out of luck. I just got my Peter Gunned Maggie 1.6 qrs back from John. I am the original owner of the 1.6s and they have been ‘babied ‘ since I got them 10 to 12 years ago. I had no dela...
OMG - I am just investigating ‘tweaks’ to improve my audio system. BTW - Rodman 99999 thanks for the comments on the closed thread and the link to a Teddy Power Conditioner.
The Synergistic Research Orange Fuse ... Further thoughts. Oregon papa - I need very specific advice as to how to implement the SR fuses into my main system, if you do not mind. I have reached the decision to try them out. My equipment is as follows:Lumin D 1 - this is my main source - no fuse portKrell ...
Why discussions generate into personal affronts... Insearchofprat - my analysis of why multiple discussions get nasty some time is due to ‘clash of egos’ - no more no less. I try and read threads that I am interested in for the goal of improving my stereo system sound. I work hard to ignore the sn...
Advice on Krell amplifier I have used Krell Integrated amps for over 15 years in my two main stereo systems ( Krell KAV 400 xi and Krell S 550i). I have pushed Maggie’s with both integrated amps just fine and Maggies have to be the most inefficient speakers built. The soun...
Just how big is our foot print? Everyone - I use Audiogon forums to expand my knowledge of how to improve the audio quality of my two home stereo systems within the budget I have to spend for this hobby.the variety of inputs I find here in the multiple threads have lead me to im...

Separate DAC and Streamer or go with a Streamer DAC? I have been streaming thru my LUMIN D 1 for 4 or 5 years. I got the MQA upgrade for free once it became available. LUMIN routinely sends me updates for the unit when they become available over the internet. Software interface is great on my I pad ...
High value, giant killer speakers? Hifihandyman - you hit the nail on the head - Maggie’s need power to open up and perform well! Once you pour on the power they outshine speakers that cost 10X and above. That financial savings gets you a lot of quality sound if you spend it on a g...
High value, giant killer speakers? Another vote for Maggie’s. The 1.7is are $2,200. I added a bass panel DWM to mine - all in at $3,000. They out preform speakers I have heard costing $20,000. Use the savings for some good Class A or AB power and you are done. I bi amp my base pan...
Your favorite Electrostatic, Panel spkr Kgvetran - I have owned Maggie’s for over 20 years (MGII, 1.6 qr, 1.7i with DWM base panel now). Obviously, I love the sound of my Maggie’s - mid range vocals are amazing. My current listening room is larger than yours, but I feel the 1.7is would ... |
