What speaker cable made a major difference in the sound quality of your speakers??
@dgarretson .. what is the braided copper for? Is that one of your conductors? Or are you dividing the ribbons into the pos and neg conductors and using the braided copper as a shield?

@rrwolfgram and @wtf - so funny, I’ve been reading that site and a few others like it since @sabai posted about making his own silver cables..Did you guys use the spaghetti Teflon tubing for insulation? Was it difficult to thread the wire through?...
Has anyone had experiences good or bad with speaker isolation or isolation in general ?
Kenny - springs are way better at vibration isolation than an inner tube. I recently got rid of the inner tube I had under the maple butcher block my turntable rests on. I bought my springs from Grainger after doing a few simple calculations to de...
Synergistic Red Fuse ...
@shadorne I just wear My Little Pony socks and it makes everything better.

@sabai - Interconnects are pure silver with insulation. Connectors for interconnects have insulation, they’re KLEI pure Harmony, so they’re pure silver. I’d need insulation, though. Kids and pets abound in my house.

@sabai - where did you source your silver cable? I've silver interconnects and connecters.. I'd like to try SCs as well.
Wife trouble
Never tried, but I'm interested to hear from those who have.

I am sensing a pattern!
Placement tips for Synergistic Research HTFs
They're electromagnetic, I'm just curious about what type based on your wavelength description. And also curious how that would affect sound.

Ok, so I’m not confused. My understanding of physics isn’t a total wreck. So, jeez, what waves are we dealing with here then? What are they classified as?
Who makes good quality bananas ?
BFA bananas all the way.  they have solid contact all the way around and into the terminals and have a very strong grip.  there are various types of attachment.  i use nerve audio on ebay.. i buy copper sleeves to put over them and crimp the crunk...
Class D is just Dandy!
Erik - those mytek DAC/PREs look lovely. I don't need a lot of inputs, but I also listen primarily to vinyl and don't have lots of high res files, so it would seem to me that I'd be paying good money for something that has features I'd hardly use....

@keithtexas just looked at your links. Thanks, some cutting edge equipment there!:-P

@mains   I understand the idea of buying well engineered products with a nice finish and I think it’s sweet how we’re all trying to get each other to the best sound possible. Here’s my perspective: I’m a stay at home dad. My wife makes decent money...

So now I'm confused. Photons are the carriers of EM waves, so if we're talking about an EM radiation with wavelengths 3 - 25 mm, how are the photons at rest?
