Placement tips for Synergistic Research HTFs
Damn toolbox, you are one productive human! This thread has become quite the treasure trove of info. Since you seem to rate the version of the resonators I’m using the lowest, I’m going to pick up some heavy brass caps today and make some using th...

If you do every want to try DIY, williewonka's recipe works extremely well and costs very little. The geometry is solid and you can go as expensive as you like with your choice of wires.. I've built three and am very pleased.

Tom - I have a couple mounted on the wall behind my speakers, pointing towards the listening position. I think, because my speakers are relatively close to my wall, the resonators work well on the speakers and rack pointing towards the wall. It se...

Thanks! I will keep you posted. I understand the big neutral conductor. Makes sense. I'm just so sceptical of going less than 12 gauge for the signal. I could do 12awg signal then 2x12awg for neutral.. thoughts? And I'm glad I'm experimenting again...

Toolbox - I posted some pics of my resonators on my system page. I filed the bowls down so they are flush with the copper caps. They look better and sound the same. I think they sound slightly better, but I think that’s completely expectation bias...

Alan - I meant when my travels take me to Boulder. That was bad phrasing on my part. I wish I lived in Boulder! I’m in Arkansas. Alas Williewonka - to aid in my decision process, what is the power output of your amp? Again, my amps are 500 w and m...
Has anyone had experiences good or bad with speaker isolation or isolation in general ?
Kenny - keep us posted on your speaker isolation process. I'd like to isolate my speakers and the pods look great, but kinda expensive relative to my other equipment. I also have the problem of needing stability since one of my speakers sits next ...

Wow, some great ideas in here! Willie, damn you! I was all set to buy some silver, make some cables and call it done for a few years. Now you've got me thinking and wondering about all kinds of possible ideas. Though, to be fair, in a cable discus...

Thanks gentlemen. @williewonka I’m sceptical of using such a small signal conductor.. but I was thinking about a helix type design to save the cost of a silver return conductor. @czarivey was there any particular solid conductor wire you found bet...

@timlub @steakster thanks gentlemen. When I was researching 'recipes' I did come across mentions of the high capacitance of cables made from many individually insulated wires. Neither of the class D amps I've used the CAT 5 cables with have had a ...

@sfall - I checked it clear day when I started researching silver cables. They are a great price, but not quite as thick as I want. I think they were 14 gauge.. my DIY cost for 10awg cable is about the same as the cost of their finished cables, wh...

That's what drew me to the idea of the cat 5 in the first place. The reports I keep reading of solid silver in a loose dielectric are universally positive, with many saying it's the best they've heard. But damn, silver wire isn't cheap. But none o...
Hearing is believing?........power cables.......
@williewonka I definitely heard a bigger improvement putting the helix PC on the tube pre vs on the class d monos. Whether that's because it's a pre and they're amps it because it's tube and they're ss, I don't know.

I love Music Reproduction System. It sounds so newspeak!

Toolbox - i just looked at the pics of your resonators. It's funny, I just went to Lowes last night and bought 3/8" OD compression caps and made some resonators with them as bases instead of the 3/8" copper pipe caps. It looks like you are using t...
