Which setup is better? What Krell-man said.
Choosing between Reissue and Original pressings I agree with the OP, most of the reissues I've purchased were superior to the original. Most times it's just a matter of the sound being cleaned up, not changed or altered.
Is it too much to ask.... If I'm truly interested in a product I'll do my own fact finding research. The OP said he looked at 40 to 50 amps today, seems like he's on the wrong track already.
A clue for the clueless Liz is right but I wouldn't pass on a good deal because the seller is not experienced in the ways of selling on A.G. The worse the add the less competition you will have when dealing on a product and likely realize a better price. Years ago we wen...
Best Receiver Ever Made short of the MD-208 Decent sound from the Carver stuff ( Mejames ) . But Bob's equipment names had nothing to do with his technology , selling hype only. It's good for a laugh now.
To Dac or not to Dac Dac it up. Stay away from tube DAC's, haven't heard a good one yet.
Revel Performa 3 Very cool gear. It's hard to comprehend the depth of there technology. I thought B&W and Wilson had advanced driver testing methods, but Revel is clearly at the head of the pack.
Why do Harbeth speakers have such a cult following They look and sound a bit old fashion, some seem to like that.
How big of a difference do amps make? I've gone back and forth from tubes to solid state many times in the past 40 years and now have both types of systems. Is one better than the other in most ways? Nope.
neutrality vs musicality Maybe there elusive to you Mrtennis. But many of us have found a near perfect balance. I won't say it was cheap or easy.
music hall cd 25.2 problem Yeah, just call Roy Hall and tell him you have a warranty problem, I'm sure he'll tell you to take a jump in the lake, as he did with me. Wouldn't consider his gear if it were free. There's been lots about him on A.A.
Fremer lays an Ostrich egg... Although I've not been a big fan of Mr. Fremers, he should get a pat on the back for telling like it is. Not many reviewers have the stones to say something negative about a large manufacturer, and Harman's got to be one of the biggest. We should a...
Fremer lays an Ostrich egg... We can't blame the OP for his outrage, I'm sure most of use here would be tweeked if we had read a bad review about something we had invested heavy in, and must have thought was great.
neutrality vs musicality As far as building a great system, neutrality is something we need, musicality is something we like. Finding a satisfactory amount of both is the trick. |
