My new TV doesn't have an RCA video in..... False Alarm....I didn't realize it but the Rotel actually has component-monitor out. Thanks anyways.Sorry Krelldog, the on screen menu in the RSP-1066 will not work on component video out. You will need to use the composite video out.
My new TV doesn't have an RCA video in..... Newer TV's use the component video as a dual purpose input. The "Y" connection (green) can be used for composite video (yellow RCA). Check your owners manual as I'm not sure if it just works or you may need to select something in the menu.
Connecting a sub to a vintage integrated amp From the pics, it looks like what you can do is set the coupler switch on the back of the Yamaha to "off", then you would need a set of "Y" RCA adapters to plug to the L/R preouts on the 2010 to the main inputs to 'recouple' the pre and amp sectio...
The first watts So your speakers, rated at 87 dB @ 1 watt, should be able to get up to 97 dB in an amp that switches over to Class AB at 10 wpc. Probably most of your listening would be in Class A, unless you are a headbanger.Sorry, that's not exactly right. The ...
Speaker wire for WATT 3 Tiny Tots As Mattmiller stated, many try to adjust the sound by using different cables, however, when using Wilson speakers, I must agree with Brf. AFAIK, for at least 20 years, Wilson has always used Transparent Audio cables with their speakers at the show...
Can I make the volume louder by using a pre-amp? See page 38 in the owners manual. There is an adjustment for "Source Level". Hopefully this will allow you to increase the phono input without affecting the level of the other inputs. Appears that it will increase the gain up to 12db.
Connecting amp to vintage speakers An alternative to terminating the wire with pins is to form the actual wire into a pin. Use a wire stripper like this one. First strip 1/2 to 3/4 inch of the insulation using the 14 gauge slot on the stripper. Then use the 16 gauge slot on the str...
How to tell vacuum tube is gone bad?? The Primaluna Prologue 3 has 2 sets of pre outs labeled 1 and 2. Is the problem actually output 1 and output 2, or is the problem a difference between L and R outputs?
asheville audiophiles I agree Ptmconsulting, however if you must hire an electrician, then you should also consider having him install a dedicated line or lines as well.
Quality issues with Tekton speakers.... I've followed this thread from the start, and I have no doubt about the poor communication with the manufacturer as I have read this before, however a couple of things just don't make sense to me. In the original post, the following is stated,I de...
Need help deciding on Rotel Amp for 5.2 sys Are you running the left, center and right speakers full range?I agree with Bob. The front speakers should not be running full range, as this will be a waste of power since the speakers will have very little or no output in the low bass range. Did...
Pre + Amplifier Recommendation For that to hold true in a real application, the amps would have to be built and measured exactly the same way. For example, 2 different 100 watt amps made by different companies will not put out the same amount of power.Zd542, Not sure what you m...
Pre + Amplifier Recommendation My point is: That a lot of people will obtain very high quality gear/sound and they don't listen to it...they just don't listen past the 1st 10 watts.Im sure he is saying they listen at a low level, however the reference to 10 watts is only corre...
Ultimate center speaker in a small HT set up? Morgan, you're welcome. Having spent over 20 years in the A/V industry, I have definitely listened to many systems. HT systems with all identical speakers range from quality bookshelf speakers to a system with all Wilson Watt/Puppys. While timbre ...
