Enchancing video, adding audio in the bedroom. Hi fjn04,Initially, I don’t see any issues, using the Oppo as a control center will send video to the plasma and sound to the speakers from anything connected to it, but a couple of questions just to be sure.1) Since you are currently using Blu-ra...
Enchancing video, adding audio in the bedroom. Forget the A/V receiver and use the Oppo's inputs as a control center. Then its video to the plasma and audio to a nice 2 channel integrated amp. Simple and the video direct to the plasma should be better than through an A/V receiver.
???Why The HUGE Discrepancy in Sensitivity Ratings??? If the sensitivity is measured in a room instead of an anechoic chamber, it will be 2-3db higher. Some manufacturers have been known to spec room sensitivity. Also, some specifications say 1 watt and others say 2.83v. If the speaker is 8 ohms, it ...

Mogami 3104 Spade Lug Connector AWG Size An 8 gauge connector should work. If this is speaker cable, got to say I'm curious as to what amp and speaker needs something that large.
Center and surrounds for B&W 802d Center channel and surrounds should be from same series of B&W as your 802d’s.
> $500 integrated amp to drive JBL 530 speakers full range Considering these 3 choices, the NAD C326bee, which is actually 50 watts. I wouldn't get to concerned about terminology, but it does have a decent power section. IMHO, it will drive your somewhat inefficient speakers better than the other two. Sin...
Dolby Atmos 7.4.2 using all in wall Speakers If you want to use a 5 channel amp, I still recommend option 1. I'm thinking that would have the least adverse effect for HT.
Electromagnetic interference There are many reasons a 60 cycle hum can occur in a system. More info about your system would be necessary to determine the issue. How far apart is the preamp and amp now? 2-3 feet?
Dolby Atmos 7.4.2 using all in wall Speakers Sorry, to be more specific,1) 5 channel amp - L, C, R, and front ceiling pair, then the surround, surround back, and rear ceiling pair on the Yamaha 2) 2 channel amp - rear ceiling pair, then the rest on the Yamaha and actually I think option 2 wo...
Dolby Atmos 7.4.2 using all in wall Speakers IMHO, I would use a 5 channel amp for all of the front speakers or a 2 channel amp for 2 of the rear speakers keeping all the fronts on the Yamaha.
Speaker Recommendation Needed You’re welcome. The guys at Zu are great. I'm sure they would be happy to just talk with you.
Rotel RSX-1058 Won't Respond to Remote Commands Agree with soix, remote is likely the problem. Even if you had this problem with the OEM remote, it would likely be the remote. Not saying it couldn't be the receiver, but would look at the remote first.
Why do you give bad advice? "My limited experience with AG has been the recent thread "Are audiophiles still out of their minds?" Was someone forcing you to read that thread and not allowing you to read another?
Speaker Recommendation Needed Brimel1974, thanks for the info, and I can't see any problem with your speaker placement. It appears that your preference is a sound that is a little bright and forward sounding. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. It's like the old say... |
