@docknow my Macbook Pro does not have an ethernet port built in.  You have to use either usb or thunderbolt port with a converter/adapter.  This worked fine https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Network-Ethernet-Supports-Nintendo/dp/B00MYTSN18
