Regards to the Rack
If you are familiar with stone, have you considered building your own equipment rack? I've been considering building a rack with granite for some time. Just need to find the time. The stone will cost approximately $125 per slab with holes drilled....
Small Room. Go for it or forget about it?
Very interesting as I'm preparing to move my system into an identically sized room. My concern is the square factor not the small size. Don't worry about the small size as my experience is the larger room is over rated unless you plan on having gu...
Born to Run: Why the Poor Sound Quality?
Wild Billy's Circus Story - that's my favorite Springsteen cut if we're talking sonics. Springsteen's early stuff was pure magic at the time.
Can it get any better
Can't top that this weekend as I'm getting ready to move my daughter off to her freshman year at Purdue University. I'll give it a shot next weekend when the wife and I have the house to ourselves. All the kids are gone!

Listened to Patti Smith's "Twelve" last night. Her version of George Harrison's "Within You Without You" is well worth the price of admission. Great bass on this cd also.
Small Floor Stander or Monitor For Large Room
I owned the Sr-15s and the Totem Model 1s and for your purpose the SR-15s are a good candidate. My listening room is much smaller but the SR-15s are a much larger sounding speaker. They can really produce nearly full scale sound without srain. The...
Do we believe in Machina Dynamics?
How about a listener with less than perfect eyesight?
Where can I get speaker OUTRIGGERS?
I have a pair of the outriggers mentioned above and they are very nice. I bought them after a DIY pair. Check my system for pics of each installed. Operationally they are pretty much the same but the Soundcity products sure look better.
Recommended one make systems?
I reread my answer to this thread. A tad nasty. Sorry for that. Especially now as I'm considering an all Linn system after purchasing a Linn Genki. I really appreciate the sound and look of the components. Did you ever come up with the all one bra...
CD Player: "Love at First Listen" recommendation
The Resolution Audio CD-50 did exactly what you describe for me with the first cd. I distinctly remember thinking, this is what they mean when they say this "sounds like analog." After a couple of years it sounds just as good.My Linn Genki has a s...
SACD certainly bests CD for me.
My Sony DVP-S9000es died a few months ago. Before it died I would compare it to my trusty Resolution Audio CD-50. The RA playing redbook gave nothing up to the Sony and usually sounded better to me.Ncarv, how does the Sony repair policy work. I'd ...

"A Nod to Bob" is on the Red House Record label as is the Kate Wolf tribute cd mentioned above. I've been touting the "Nod to Bob" cd for a while here. It is one of my favorite compilation cds with the bonus of HDCD. There are some wonderful artis...

Don s, thanks for the Kate Wo;f tribute tip. Excellent cd and a perfect example of what I am looking for.
Artists 'SELLING OUT' - can we discuss?
Make that 50 please.I certainly don't begrudge anyone making money, selling their work/art or however you want to put it but... that isn't the same as "selling out." Maybe you need to be part of that generation to understand (yes I said understand...
Artists 'SELLING OUT' - can we discuss?
Bianchi27, your argument is flawed in that you can't compare an "artists" work to that of most people's jobs. If you believe in "art" as something other than a commodity that is.
