Ferrofluid @katman You might want to look up his speakers, there are 14 caps in each speaker, not to mention relays, half wave rectifiers and Zeners. The crossover is on multiple circuit boards to handle independent functions, they are not surface soldered...
Ferrofluid I can do the work, if you think that you can pull them and ship, hit me on private message
Ferrofluid So, I hear you, but again. I would not rebuild those crossovers. A few parts replacements yes, but you would need to measure every inductor for its resistance then figure into the crossover, when the resistance changes on this tweeter, mid etc, ho...
Ferrofluid @tattooedtrackman Yes, I do design, build, mod and repair crossovers. I know what I'm doing and want you to please take to heart what I tell you here. Your speakers crossovers are well thought, complicated expensive. When I build, Each woo...
Ferrofluid Ferrofluids main purpose is to dissipate heat. When the coil heats up, it naturally cools within the fluid. I do not drive my speakers crazy hard an have compared sound with and without fluid several times. I always heard a tad more information wi...
Ferrofluid I have done it many times.... If your listening habits would never strain the tweeter, I would normally remove the fluid rather than replace it. Can sound slightly better, never found it to sound worse.
Replacing dead woofer on ProAc Tablette Sig 50 (NYC area)? Seas did indeed use the same woofer. I have used them a few times. The Proac driver is an MP14 series, they customized that series with a phase plug for Proac. I have only seen the phase plug version made for Proac. Look at an MP14RC (H0688) or MP...
Replacing dead woofer on ProAc Tablette Sig 50 (NYC area)? @the_jest If you want to send my the good driver, I'll run full curves and specs and then help you find a proper replacement. I am in the St. Louis area.
Replace Dynaudio woofers? @xidnpnlss I searched the internet for a Dynaudio 15w38, but as of now, I have not found any helpful info. To replace this with a different driver, you need this info at a minimum. Very closely matching sensitivity of the driver Very closing ma...
Replace Dynaudio woofers? @xidnpnlss . Email me directly.... I'll help you out,use my same name here, then add at live dot com
Replace Dynaudio woofers? @xidnpnlss. I have seen the Dynavox drivers, they look fine. I have used the 6 1/2 inch original version of the HiVi. Totem used this driver in the original Forest, needed a bit of work, but turned out very well. I have seen a comparison of underh...
Replace Dynaudio woofers? Dynaxox and HiVi have both knocked off this style of Dynaudio woofer. Both spec similarly to the Dyn’s
Loudspeaker sensitivity and dynamics: are the two inexorably linked? @phusis I was really trying to deal with the idea of dynamics only. I did bring up efficiency a few efficiency issues, but tried to keep it in an understandable format. To those that don't have a better idea of sensitivity vs efficiency. The...
Loudspeaker sensitivity and dynamics: are the two inexorably linked? Hello all, I don't dive in much these past couple of years. The old timers know that I have a speaker back ground and it is where I occasionally chime in. So the question: Are they inexorably Linked? No, not inexorably at all, but they are som...
