Vandy sub owners-crossovers for 2WQ
BigTee--ArisAudio is my local dealer, and you're right, Scott is a great guy to work with. One of the great dealers out there.
High End Myth Glossary.
You know, I had always wondered that... As a marketing major (recent grad) I always saw a hole in the statements with the local feedback as opposed to global feedback-- there just weren't any designers that I could ask. I simply assumed that a no-...

I've had feedback explained to me well enough, but here is my real question.I'm a fan of BAT's solid state amps. They are balanced, no-feedback designs. I understand the need for negative feedback with tubes and op-amps, but what about with a MOSF...

Oh, that is too true, Rex.Also, Marakanetz-- I'm curious about your "Zero Negative Feedback." Please do illuminate me, as I am a fan of no feedback designs.
Europeans vs. the U.S.A.
To each their own. I'm sure your system sings.
Europeans vs. the U.S.A.
I would say that it goes back to the holistic approach taken by Europeans. It would be good if more Americans could do the same thing, I suppose...Anyway, there is a LOT of national pride in Europe that exists in a way we don't have here. With so ...
Why would anyone want to listen to a harpsichord?

Zippyy-- no offense taken, it would just take me a LONG time to find the article again. I'm sure I'll come across it again, but right now, between finding work, preparing to take the LSAT, preparing for my brother's wedding this weekend, and getti...

Zippyy--I can't remember his exact words, and don't have the time to drag up the interview again. I've also heard it from other sources.
Rogue Zues with Vandersteen 5A's at 2004 HE Show
Zippyy--I've read that Richard is strongly opposed to horizontal bi-amping (what you described), with the claim that it sounds like crap. In fact, most people who bi-amp seem to recommend vertical bi-amping. I have no experience with it, but those...
Vandies or Maggies?
Well, my wife and I have been talking about this (she somehow manages to take a mild interest in my audiophile obsession). I think we're going to end up combining both the stereo and the Home Theater for a while, which changes everything. I think ...
The listening constraints have been lifted
My neighbors are moving in the next day or two, my wie will be working, and I will be jamming!Like most, my wife gets annoyed at loud music. Not all the time, but often enough.
SACD - Dying already?
I agree that SACD remains the product of internet and direct-mail purchases. I'm not sure about the future of the format, but if we audiophiles can keep vinyl alive, surely we can do the same for SACD. The question is whether or not it's worth the...
Has anyone used electronic pocket scales for VTF?
What model was that? I'd be interested in purchasing one.
