Richard Gray's Power Company I was born a skeptic with an open mind. Anyone with a sharp pencil can write specs. Ask the IRS. Like I said the Gray stuff killed my system. From its creation, my friends system was built out from the Equi-Tech panel. I can only comment on what I...
Best Cable for canceling RFI I use the shielded cables from Sonoran Audio. The new Plateau series uses a steel micro bearing final shield that reduces micro-vibrations and has the added benefit of rejecting RFI.Really well constructed cable with van den Hul connectors.Good luck!
Any comments on Symposium Svelte Shelf? Hello Ken Lyon, the fill material for the Sistum product is not a dampening material,it is actually a steel alloy. The steel bearings are smaller in diameter than a human hair. You drop these babies and they are hell to chase around and get up.Anyway...
thoghts about isolation. No more than writing about valid upgrades to Dunlavy products in the speaker forum.Tom
Any comments on Symposium Svelte Shelf? If you use isolation devices in your system then you are only masking and dampening the glare that is stored in your components.
How grills affect? First things to go on my SCiv's were the grilles. Sound much better when the grilles are in the closet than when they are masking the speakers. Tom
Any comments on Symposium Svelte Shelf? To make any component sound better seek out a Sistrum platform or better yet their complete rack. They let you, for the first time hear your system under real dynamic conditions.
Pat Metheny Concert I have had the pleasure of hearing the Pat Metheny Group three times, always superb, in every way.Great to come away knowing they can play those instruments for real, and sound better than the recording.
thoghts about isolation. The devices I am using can be described as reactive devices that collect and then pass to ground, mechanical, electrical as well as airborne vibration. These designs are not isolation devices and are not designed to store energy in a box or a shel...
Richard Gray's Power Company Audiotomb,I have heard both, there is, I feel no valid way to compare these two products.I tried the Gray product in my audio only system///it killed it.I have a friend with dedicated room built from scratch up, no cost restraints Revel/Levinson/Eq...
Would you like to know about Dunlavy mods? The Kentucky Derby is here in Louisville the first Saturday in May. Pack up your selves and your speakers and we will have a speaker modification party in the infield on Derby Day.Just being silly!! Anybody out there in the Ky. and Ind. area I cou...
thoghts about isolation. Imagine just for a moment ladies and gentlemen, that your son or daughter or some other special loved one was playing at a cello recital. Imagine that your loved one ,who trained for so long, and who was so dedicated and was so gifted, was required...
Would you like to know about Dunlavy mods? Ferrous material in and around a circuit board can attract RFI.This is why one should use brass hardware which does not act as an antenna and also is less resonant than the steel screws and mounting plates found in Dunlavy as well as other speaker...
Would you like to know about Dunlavy mods? Ferrous materials around the magnetic structure (other than the pole piece} will interfere with the lines of flux. The difference I heard when I subsituted the brass machine screws was a smoother, quieter sound, less apparent hash, lower distotion,w...
Would you like to know about Dunlavy mods? No, I did neither of those mods.I feel that if you did those type of changes you would change the time alignment.I do not have the means to measure time offset.Actually the crossover upgrades and the removal of all the steel from the around the co... |
