Copper Deterioration?
Mechanical integrity of any cable product is almost as important as the internal composition. Copper based cables will not oxidize if conductors are shielded properly and the joint at the termination is hermetically sealed. Obviously the terminati...
Need a "short list" of best Subwoofers for M.L.'s
Settled on a pair of Paradigm Servo 15's. They are very fast and musical. I run my Dunlavy SCIV's full range and only add the subs for support and weight below 50hz. I would put any and all subs on Audiopoints or Sp-1 platforms .These devices make...
Unbelievable Indeed
The possible explanation of the brass wall plate is as follows. The brass wall plate is acting in benefit in two ways. Brass is going to serve as a RFI shield at the wall to room junction. The brass wall plate will greatly increase the size of the ...
Sakura Systems OTA Cable Kit
Dave, the solder is called Riehl Copper Solder named after its composition designer Brent Riehl. This solder has no lead and no flux. I got it to flow well. You do need to have a quality gun with adjustable temperature. This is, by far the best sou...
Sakura Systems OTA Cable Kit
On one other thread I commented that I use the same wire thru out my system. Internally as well as externally. .Almost all the connections are done with the same copper based solder as well. We all speak of time alignment and coherence. This rathe...
Sakura Systems OTA Cable Kit
BTW, I rewired my Dunlavy SCI4's and I had to mount my X-over outside.Huge difference. A buddie of mine who has Spendors rewired his with the same wire I used and could hardly hold onto the phone as he described the improvement.
Replacing internal wiring.
The solder is named after its composition designer.Riehl Copper Solder.I used Brents hook up wire as well. Its a solid core with his micro-bearing shield around the insulator. This cable is naturally detailed and every so dynamic.1-877-668-4332. The...
What's better: RCA or XLR?
I have found the shorter and less complicated the signal path the better.Single ended have a less complicated path than balanced.Single ended I sense to be more coherent.
Replacing internal wiring.
I have found by using the same cable design inside my system components as well as the cables that feed them has made my system effortless and of one signature. No more hodge podge. All the same. The new copper based solder I ran across seems to have...
Argent Room Lenses?
22 yrs ago,in my first home I had a live end dead end listening room using Sonex. The results in that room were spectacular. In years since I have been fortunate to have been able to use less and less room treatment. I have found by using specifica...
Isolation Cones. Will I get the point?
I recently awoke the other day and found myself in the 21st.century. Last time I saw anyone use an innertube was on the deck of the Titanic [they drowned]. Hope you get the point. Isolation does not work. It only delays the the time of return.
Richard Gray's Power Company
I was born a skeptic with an open mind. Anyone with a sharp pencil can write specs. Ask the IRS. Like I said the Gray stuff killed my system. From its creation, my friends system was built out from the Equi-Tech panel. I can only comment on what I...
Best Cable for canceling RFI
I use the shielded cables from Sonoran Audio. The new Plateau series uses a steel micro bearing final shield that reduces micro-vibrations and has the added benefit of rejecting RFI.Really well constructed cable with van den Hul connectors.Good luck!
Any comments on Symposium Svelte Shelf?
Hello Ken Lyon, the fill material for the Sistum product is not a dampening material,it is actually a steel alloy. The steel bearings are smaller in diameter than a human hair. You drop these babies and they are hell to chase around and get up.Anyway...
thoghts about isolation.
No more than writing about valid upgrades to Dunlavy products in the speaker forum.Tom
