looking for best speakers to match with small 25w MM de Capo i by REFERENCE 3A are really nice speakers and will do the trick. If my amp was smaller, I would probably own them. You could also check out some JM Lab Micro Utopias BE. Not a bad way to spend $4k.KiD
B&W 703 - How to tame the highs? Dude, sell the frickin speakers. Yea, I have this stereo system that I tolerate.. Not good. You will spend more time and money trying to make them sound good which will end up costing you more than upgrading them now.KiD
B&W 703 - How to tame the highs? Easy, purchase new speakers without a metal dome tweeter. Problem solved. Your speakers are probably one of the most important components in your system. What keep something that is bright? Move on and upgrade.Chris
Rotel RCD 991 or 1072? Cary 308.. Sorry.. Type-O
Rotel RCD 991 or 1072? I would look elsewhere for a CD Player. A buddy of mine ordered the 1072 and it was average at best. Save your money and get a Cary 309 or a Quad CDP99.Chris
Cerious cables - Proper setup and run in time "Interesting...once again Stan posts negatively about the CTs, intimates that those who like them don't have revealing systems, and does not (after many requests from others) reveal what his system is."Are you really surprised?

Think I'm going to try tubes... Going tubes is great but with right speaker. If your 1.8's are anything like the 1.3's I had, they need power and lots of it to sound good. Good luck.Chris

Has anyone reviewed cables for the iPod? No one stated the iPod was an Audiophile player in this thread. Personally I have heard some pretty BAD sounding Krell stuff myself.. It is what is what is. But getting a good cord does improve performance. I have the Audience iPod Cord ($89.00) a...

iPod nano caution: incredibly delicate finish My boss just got a black one from his wife over the weekend and it is already sratched to hell. I own the last generation of the 40GB which is white and it has some scratches but nothing like this. I have been thinking about buying a nano for fun ...
Sonus Faber Concerto & Concertino I have owned both the Concertinos and Concertos. I had such great results with the Concertinos I mistakenly upgraded to the Concertos just looking for a fuller sound. This ended up being a mistake. The Concertinos are truly a wonderful speaker and...
Can I plug my iPod directly into an amp? Yes, you can but you would have to do so via the Headphone out and use the volume control on the iPod. Make sure it is turned all the way down when you hook it up. You will need a Mini Plug to Stereo RCA cable to do this..Chris |
