Marantz 8260 CD/SACD Well, it may have fixed your problem but my player does sound dramtically better when left on. Turning it on and off makes for a mighty long warm up period. Hopefully this is not the case for your player..Chris
Best CD for Cary SLI-80? The Cary 308T is a very good match. I ended up with a XA777ES with my SLI-80 and am very pleased with the Redbook performance and SACD is just bonus. I would say the Regas might be a little on the warm side for the Cary. Good luck.Chris
Theory about Cary amps and their reviewers Reading through this thread is very interesting. I have owned and auditioned multiple Cary Products. I would also say they are probably not for everyone's taste. I read Nrchy's comments on his experience and realize there was no Synergy with his s...
Good power cord for Rotel? I presently use the Audience PowerChord with excellent results on my Integrated Amp and CD Player, but I do want to give mention to the Signal Cable Power Cords. I gave their Digital Power Cord a try and liked it very much especially for the price...
Review ... Neil Diamond's "12 Songs" Interesting. I like Neil and have read other good reviews of this release. I sampled it yesterday and was disapointed. I will give it another listen.Chris
A tubes vs. Solid State question. It is funny that there such extremes of opinions. My first high end system and several systems after that were all solid state. I appreciate the characteristics of both SS and tubes as there are benefits and strengths of each. I presently own a tu...
About Lugnut -- Patrick Malone My family's thoughts and prayers are with you. Chris
Krell Intergrateds..how come nobody likes em? I owned one of the first Krell Integrateds and it basically sounded like a receiver. Sold it after 4 months. Not a Krell fan but I am sure their separates have to be much better. I would so hope anyway.Chris
Theory about Cary amps and their reviewers In my experience, they are second to none. One of my good friends turned me onto them and has probably owned 7-8 of their amplifers with ZERO problems. I have owned a CD-308 CD player and my current SLI-80 and have had nothing but success and enjo...
Mini Monitors - Dynaudio and JM Labs After looking at your system, I would strongly suggest you also consider the Sonus Faber Cremona Auditors. They would compliment your system nicely and are in the same price range as the Dyns and the JMS.chris
Mini Monitors - Dynaudio and JM Labs I would agree with Washline. I came very close to purchasing to a pair or 1.3se's but something was just missing. I owned a pair of JM Labs in the past and sold them to a good friend. I actually listened to them on Friday and I sometimes wonder wh...
What SS Int Amp to match with Sonus Faber? Unison Research Unico. It is inexpensive 80 Watts and has a tube input stage. Or you could step up to the plate and purhase a REAL-TUBE Integrated Amplifer like a Cary or a Pathos. Good Luck.KiD
Can DK design MKII drive the Magenapan MG1.6 well? Too much power doesn't blow speakers. Chris
Sonus Faber Concerto Home. Very nice speakers, although I actually prefered the Concertinos Home I had before I upgraded to the Concerto Home. I was in a small listening room at my previous home (a spare bedroom) and the Concertinos were really amazing. As I was not using a ...
Tyler Acoustic vs. Paradigm You will not regret that purchase. Congrats and enjoy your new speakers.Chris |
