What amp do use to drive your Klipsch Cornwall I,
I've tried lots of amps, both solid state and tube (McIntosh, Jolida, Cary, Quicksilver, Audio Research, etc...) but always come back to a modded Scott 299 EL-84 tube integrated. Just something about that sound. Musical, non-fatiguing and warm. Ha...
2010 RMAF Analog Reports + Meet and Greet
This will be my first RMAF but looking forward to it and hopefully meeting a lot of you there. Still looking at exhibitor list and trying to figure out where to start!
How to listen to the good stuff?
Go to the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest in Denver next month. 100s of companies will be there and it is set up for audiophiles, not dealers like CES in Vegas. Runs Oct 14-17.
Klipsch Chorus or Cornwall II
I've owned almost all of the Klipsch models (KHorn, Belles, LaScalas, Cornwall I & II, Chorus I & II, Forte I & II, Heresy I & II, Quartet, Epic Series, KLF Series, etc) and find the Chorus and Fortes are often the most overlooked ...
klipsch heresy
For the price it is an easy decision. Certainly you could determine the differences on your own and decide which you prefer. Having owned both models, I will tell you the Heresy's will be a bit more forward or 'brighter' than the 10's. Some prefer...
Which speakers have the biggest soundstage
hmmm...HUGE soundstage but NOTHING else. Sounds like the Bose 901s to me.
Definitive Technology Mythos STS floorstanders
I owned the ST Supertowers recently and currently own the BP2000TLs. I found the BP2000s were preferable for home theater and the ST's for music. The STs are an excellent design for music and great for HT as well (although I think the 2000s are in...
Is new better than old?
Considering roughly 50% of the cost on 'new' speakers go to the distributor, store owner, etc...I personally prefer 'older' vintage classic designs and think many of them are actually 'better' than many of the newer design which I find rather tilt...
Anyone know much about Digital Phase Audio
I've owned both the AP-4s and AP-2s in the past and loved both of them. The embarrass most of the high end designs out there and I have owned a lot of them. Very fast and articulate with great bass from their 'acousta-reed' technology. They don't ...
Ribbon speakers
Another vote for the original Infinity Modulus. It used Infinity's time proven Emit ribbon tweeter and sounds effortless. I have two pair of them and they are extremely detailed and musical.
How To Ship Heavy Speakers With Insurance?
forwardair.com will ship on a pallet very inexpensively.
Please...Advice For The Speakerly Challenged
Actually, if you are looking for a Klipsch Heritage dealer in south Texas, Bjorn's in San Antonio is one and has been for a long time.
Klipsch LaScallas vs Klipsch Cornwalls?
I've owned both (as well as KHorns, Chorus, Fortes, Quartets, Heresy's, KLF-20s, CF-4s and RF-7s) and used them in even a smaller room than yours. Unless you are a head banger (I'm not) a horn speaker (even a large one) can do great things in even...
B&W 804S vs Def Tech Mythos ST
The Mythos ST is a different animal than DefTech bi-polar designs. Incredible detail and rock solid imaging. If you a/b'd them against the B&Ws my money would be on the Mythos. I've owned a pair and have listened to the B&UWs a few times a...
Von Schweikert VR4 vs later models?
<Been there, done that...>>I have no idea what that means....
