Polishing a Micro Seiki RT 3000G Gunmetal platter
Start with the simplest and least aggressive method of polishing and see if you get the results you want.  Personally, I would start some metal polish and a clean micro fibre cloth.
Balanced connections to my VPI turntable?
Does your phono stage, preamp, and amplifier all have true dual differential balanced circuitry?  Some equipment is single ended and only offers xlr connection for convenience
Does it bother you when you see inflated MSRP’s for used gear on AG?
@russellrcncom ,  leave the msrp blank.  If it is important to the buyer, they can perform their own due diligence.  Why draw the scrutiny from the pricing police.  Problem solved.
How good is good enough?
Sometimes it’s the chase that’s the most exciting

Audiogon should just remove the New Retail Price field, it serves no real purpose
A Story about a Defective Signature Platinum

VTL 5.5 vs Cary SLP-05

Surround sound is for spatial effects.  I’m not aware of any musical events in which the listener is seated amongst the musicians.
Help me spend $100,000 on a new system
Keep the $100,000 and spend it on vacations, like experiences etc.  it sounds like you already have the high end stereo covered off.
Commercial air travel with a speaker
The speaker must be able to fit under the seat or go in the overhead.  It the case of turbulence, the airline doesn’t want hard object flying around that could cause injury.  You can always pack it very carefully and have it put on the airline wit...
Higher-End Class A/B vs. Class A Integrateds
@bubinga, Reno HiFi is now permanently closed.  Mark has retired.
Anyone has a reference system where amplification is SS ?
I would argue that there are more SS reference systems than fully tubed.
Which is better, a fussy speaker or a versatile one?
Like comparing a Ferrari 296GTB with a Ferrari Purosangue.  One needs special conditions to perform at its best, while the other performs well in any conditions.  Different target market
