Dual mono at a minimum
Feedback on Costco & Amazon sound absorption panels from folks who have purchased them.
When a speaker emits sound waves, they travel to your listening position but also to the ceiling, sides walls and floor, where they are reflected toward the listening position. While these first reflections arrive later and are measurably distin...
How good is the crossover in your loudspeakers?
And then there's Wilson Benesch who run their midrange directly coupled to the amp, i.e., no crossover, and use primarily first order electronic crossovers or acoustic crossovers.  The best crossover is no crossover, followed by an acoustic cross...

Looking for new speaker cables
Karl Schuster’s Empirical Design cables have made a difference in my system. Karl has a good ear and his wires have a scientific basis for their design and construction. Been in business for over 20 years. Not cheap but not crazy expensive either....
What is the most overlooked consideration?
It's the room. It has a greater influence on what you hear than any source, amplifier, speaker, or processor. And if you argue it doesn't apply because you don't plug it in, realize the end result is akin to a DSP, only better.
Mid level listening
I think if you're "listening intently", you're missing the point.  I don't listen for the drums, but I frequently find myself following the drums or the piano or a voice without trying to. Kind of just absorbed in what's coming out of the speake...
Tom Martin's Listening Room
The issue is not the way the room looks nor how many panels are up, but rather whether there is an appropriate mix of absorption and diffusion. Because there's no evidence of a diffusion device, I'm assuming they have them and just covered them wi...
Tom Martin's Listening Room
They aren't minimized, they are virtually eliminated. Most intriguing is that RPG does not have any diffusion panels covered with fabric so this appears to be pure absorption. Not the way you usually do a room, so I have to assume something was do...
Tom Martin's Listening Room
Appears he has a PSI audio AVAA C214 active bass trap in the left front corner. Dude is serious.

@roxy54 They have a price list. Neither their services nor their products are cheap, but not out of line with Vicoustics and others, although GIK and Acoustic Fields provide a free assessment.   I use REW but that is not nearly as user friendly as...

Room treatment can be addictive
@Maghister The aesthetics were in part a nod to my wife. She does draw the line somewhere. And a compliment from you is noteworthy! Thank you.
Room treatment can be addictive
@andy2  Speaker sound waves are first reflected from the sides, ceiling and floor and compete for your attention with the initial sound waves directly from the speaker. Although the reflections arrive later and are measurably distinct, the...
