Speaker Placement Issue/Thoughts Cal3713-Seems your image is left of center, and your left speaker is closer to your ear. This could create the issue you describe. As I mentioned in my above comment, dont trust your sight to judge distance, use a tape measure. Let us know if movi...
Subwoofer connection same here. I run the sub straight from my amp, like I would any speaker.
Preamp Suggestions I have a martin logan sub I like-got it on a-gon for $350 or so. Its very fast and adjustable. Great with music, not so great on movies but I dont use it for movies. If you buy used you can always sell it fo about the same money.
Need helps with hums, radio station in phono Sorry-just saw you tried the ferrite core...did you try one on every power cord? wrap it twice? good luck.
Need helps with hums, radio station in phono This is weird but will work-Get a ferrite core and wrap it around your power core. All your radio interference wil be gone. Here's an article:Ferrite cores are small semi-magnetic iron pieces encased in a plastic snap enclosure. Designed to fit aro...

Preamp Suggestions I agree with Rlwainwright-I would keep the NAD for now-which is a very good performer btw. IMO, NAD will sound better than the adcom. Your idea of upgrading the source and/or the phono stage is a good idea. I think you will get the most bang for y...
Rotel 1520 or separate phono stage? I think the phono stage in your Rotel is pretty good for what it is. However, IMO you can get better performance thru the use of an outboard stage in your price range. The primary reason is shielding and/or the ability to place the phono stage out...

HELP FedEx Mangles Speakers - Refuses Claim Take them to small claims. I used UPS Store to ship an expensive item. It was damaged and they helped me with the claim. When it was denied, I loooked to the UPS Store to pay it since they sold me the insurance. They denied it too. I filed a compl...
McIntosh MA-6900 Integrated Amp - Your Thoughts? the ma-6900 has a phono stage doesnt it? get a rega rp1 and a few lps and give it a try
Rega RP3 or Pro-ject Expression III? Kiko65-"One more thing, the only TT isolation that works is a sandbox" or IMHO a wall mount will work too.
Forced to Downsize Also, you could put a TT on a wall shelf to save floor space. |
