Now That You've Ripped Your Entire Collection...
Coressence, my music server's raid is the TuneBank from Empirical Audio. Actually, it is from their Legacy division which is for pro audio. The drives can be hot removed and replaced. I really don't have any good ideas about backing up yours. Wher...
Now That You've Ripped Your Entire Collection...
I have a raid system with four 2 Tbs each. One is not kept in my home. Two are in the raid and the final one is in a special case in another room. Much of what I have is from HD downloads and much is from SACDs in DSD format that is irreplaceable....
Passing of James Bongiorno
I liked Jim Bongiorno and owned several pieces of his equipment, but he was often full of shit. I will long remember his comment after some consumption of liquor that, "electrons don't know what wire the went through when they emerged." All of tho...
Stillpoint Ultras anyone?
I don't know if any of you have the SPs Rack with acrylic shelves. If you do, get rid of the acrylic and get their new Grids to replace them. StillPoints keep costing me lots of money, but bring em on!
High Fidelity Cables CT-1designed by Rick Schultz
Juliejoema, I was saying this about the CT-1E relative to the CT-1s. Both require a higher volume output than my other cables. But yes, they do greatly lower the noise floor.
High Fidelity Cables CT-1designed by Rick Schultz
Juliejoema, well said. I thought that CT-1E initially sounded dull relative to CT-1, but that changed over night. I find the bass on Enhanced exceptional. For me the further question is Ultimate. I heard it on the Lansche speakers the last day of ...

Alpass, yes and the Enhanced is better than the CT-1 and the Ultimate, I'm told is better than even that. There are also digital interconnects and prospectively power cords.I'm still waiting for my CT-1 Enhanced to settle down. I certainly have he...
DK Design Review
Csmgolf, it is called the LSA Statement Plus. There are many changes relative to the Statement amp, mainly in the preamp area and blocking caps to the amplifier.Stereodad, John does all the work so you might as well go directly to him. This is wha...
DK Design Review
Glory, are you using it as an integrated amp or just an amp? Also, do you have the Urushi caps? I had the previous, just Statement version, and this one is a great improvement.
Do balanced/symmetrical phono cables really exist?
I have a BMC MCCI phono stage that only allows balanced inputs. My turntable has RCA outputs. The manual for this unit is very explicit and will help you. Go to Aaudioimports.com and find BMC and MCCI. The manual is available there.

Calloway, from my limited experience, I agree.
High Fidelity Cables CT-1designed by Rick Schultz
It was only last week that I became aware of Schultz's new cables. I'm trying pairs of CT-1s and CT-1Es now. I saw them and the fairly expensive Ultras at CES and even heard them used throughout the system. I heard no comparisons at CES, however. ...
When is digital going to get the soul of music?
I think the answer is soon. It will be with a Lenco, a quality amplifier of the cartridge, and recorded at double DSD. I will probably hear it this year.
Tidal Speakers owners
Linkster, I didn't see Tidal at CES. Were they there?
