Does the ceiling fan affect the sound? I have a high ceiling, 11.5.' It is only a different circuit than my system. It also has three speeds. On low speed I have noticed no impact but above that I do hear problems.I can have the ac on in my room as it is about 50' away.
Determining current flow to install "audiophile" fuses. I really don't understand why anybody would bother to say that fuse direction doesn't matter. None of us who do hear a difference care what you think. And you, of course, don't care what we think. For about thirty years I heard this nonsense argum...
Can stabilant 22 be used for power cords and vacuum tubes? I have a can of Cramolin lotion with tiny copper power in it. I got this from a radio station that dipped their tubes in it before inserting them. I did discover that with time and heat that I had to use emory cloth to remove the build up. I guess...
High Fidelity Cables CT-1designed by Rick Schultz 68pete, I am glad that you mentioned the breakin on the MC-6. I found that initially it sounded better than the next day. Being one Dave's "crazy" friends I now have eleven MC-0.5s and seven of them in the MC-6. I am still finding good and bad day...
Determining current flow to install "audiophile" fuses. I don't think there is any fuse that doesn't have a direction that is best. Even when Syn. Res. zapped their fuses both directions on direction always sounded best. Why if there are real scientist here can they not explain why. The nonsense that i...
Can too many components on one outlet affect the sound of an amp? I have a large house with the usual 15 amp circuit (actually two panels). I had two dedicated 10 gauge wire outlets put in and run to the main panel with one outlet behind each speaker to serve the monoblock amp there. Then along came ac filter bo...
Isolating Digital Noise, need help. Do you get any noise when only the amp is in the system and on, of course?
Best Equipment Stand I tried a wall mounted shelf one time and found that my walls vibrated as well. I tried hanging the turntable from the ceiling and found it also vibrated. I knew a guy in Chicago who used curb stones for a rack. These are the heavy stone used for ...
Best Equipment Stand Tom, you mention the need to level. I can understand that for your turntable, but remember that a three legged rack, such as the Star Sound Apprentice is alway with all three feet in contact. Of course the design of all the Star Sound devices is ...
Isolating Digital Noise, need help. lowrider57, I think that others may have already suggested what I would do first. Disconnect the interconnects from the amp and turn it on, If there is no noise, it is something upstream. If it still hums it is the amp, of course. Next add the lin...
Too much power? exiledviking, every component from phono stage, line stage, DAC, and amps has gain. What everybody is saying from it is unlikely that you will have a problem to the amp can burn out your drivers is true. Once because I was intrigued by a 200 watt ...
why do people feel the need to buy expensive cable maplegrovemusic, this last Saturday there were four of us in the same listening room when we put the quite a bit more expensive HFC cables in replacing the next down cables. One guy is quiet and said nothing, one said something to the effect of wh...
why do people feel the need to buy expensive cable Yesterday I substituted even more expensive cabling than those I have been using. There is no question that the new ones are substantially better. Can I give up and return the new ones or figure out how I can buy them? I am as yet unable to say. I...

I am somewhat amazed that there is no thread dealing with Star Sound Tech's devices Dave, be careful with this combination and dampening on top. I have repeatedly found that the APCD2s were best versus the APCD5s, but as alway YMMV. |
