Omega Mikro Power Strip
It was the OM, but apart from the ac cord, the Mapleshade looks to be the same. I was mainly interested in an extension cord, and it did that exceptionally, if expensively, well. I love OM powercords and this did not detract from their performance.
Stereophile confirms new gear is getting worse....
Is the issue that high end has poor quality or that Stereophile will not give a negative review. The first point is hardly demonstrated by what Sean presents as evidence, although it is part of the ideology of many here. The second question can be...
Omega Mikro Power Strip
I had one. It could not compare with the ac filters I was using at the time. They were the Equi=Tech, Sound Application, Velocitor, and Harmonix. Also given the purist bent of Ron, the strip has very close outlets making it difficult to use all of ...
What's the most anolog sounding CDP
The Exemplar/Denon 2900, in my experience, gets closest to vinyl.
Denon 2900 mod. How does it sound?
Given the high resolution of the Exemplar/Denon, you will have to work at isolating it, finding the best powercord, and the best interconnects. It is a pain in the ass, but what rewards.
Reference quality line stage?
Rcrump, you have always insisted that is my goal, not I. I have listened to the Blowtorch and have had many top preamps in my very resolving system, all I am really suggesting is that the original poster should listen to this unit. He will know wh...
Reference quality line stage?
Save $7k to $12k and buy a H-Cat. Nothing else comes close.
Sistrum or Neuance or...?
Sean, I am a social scientist and agree with you in principle. If we had the possibility of operationalizing "sounding better" and the proper tools to do so, we could proceed as you want. But we cannot operationalize the concept and lack the measu...
Do You Remember Your First CD Player?
Jposs, if your post was meant for me, yes the Dual loaded cds vertically like the old toasters. 1998993, I entirely agree. It was early, slow, and a piece of crap.
Sistrum or Neuance or...?
Sean says, "There is no need for snake oil of any type when rational thinking is involved." What nonsense! Rational thinking has as much to do with audio as it does with how people vote. Either the Sistrums sound better than the Neuances are they ...
Decca cartridge experiences
Don't ask the cost of the Schroeder. Much of this is the low value of the dollar.
Decca cartridge experiences
Ah, yes, extreme dynamics! I remember it well! I think I am just going to mount the Jubilee on the Schroeder as I already own it, and Frank Schroeder says he has close friends using Deccas on it. With the decline of the dollar, the Loricraft/Garra...
Decca cartridge experiences
What kind of hole does the Decca International need? I wonder about mounting the Decca on my Garrard 501.
Nora Jones new CD -- Copy Protection -- YIKES
I am disinterested in this album, and I agree with your sentiments in general about fair use of what you buy, but I understood that copy protection is on nearly every new cd. Is that not the case?
