What is the best DAC ever made?
Buy the Kondo; you are right. I do think, however, that the gap will between vinyl and digital will never be bridged, narrowed perhaps. I listen to digital nearly every weekday night, and everytime I play vinyl it is to my utter amazement at how m...
JADE AUDIO Cables
Well, I went over to JD's today for a nice listening. I must say that the Jade cables are largely trial and error. There were many prototypes before he settled on the Vermeil and Gold. These are thus substantially indifferent to the simple axioms ...
Cables suggestion
Check the archives and you will find no consensus. What have you heard that you liked?
JADE AUDIO Cables
I got a 1 m. pair of the Jade Vermeil RCA cables with no Bybees in about a week ago. I have to be in St. Paul for Christmas and plan on going by to hear the Vermeil compared with the Golds.I have been amazed that one pair of interconnects can have...
Home made cable lifters.
Chadnliz, why would that be so? I have never heard any cables that are immune to any contact whatsoever with surfaces other than ceramic.
Which "tweeks" are more important
Listener57, I will contact you directly, but this suits the purpose of the braying jackass.
Which "tweeks" are more important
Since you seem to be into cleaning substances, I suspect that a deep breath of ammonia would give you a more heady experience.
Which "tweeks" are more important
Recently, I have experienced a new problem with some tweaks, they interact. Specifically, my WTC control on the H-Cat and my Halographs have caused me many problems. I ultimately had to remove the two sets of Halographs properly adjust the WTC and...
Who has Caps on their AC lines ???
I guess the first time I tried this was the Van Evers. Since then I have tried at least two others. In my system all it does is to hurt the sound. Removing them gave me a big improvement.
Has anyone heard the Burwen Bobcat system
I keep hearing very divergent opinions on the Bobcat. I missed hearing at CES last year but am told the system was not revealing. Hopefully this year the demo will be better. I must say that I find it hard to believe the claims.
12" 45 RPM records: What's the story?
Eldartford, I am gathering a number of cds and the tracks showing pre-echo.
Passive Pre - No Regrets?
I think the controversy about passive line stages suggests that people listen for different things and that systems vary greatly. Much of the verbal discussion of sound is much like a debate about whether red or blue are the best color.
12" 45 RPM records: What's the story?
Nsgarch, the preecho is in the other channel in the groove that has already been cut. The cutter cannot deform the vinyl in the groove yet to be cut. What I would really like to know is how I get preecho on cds which are cut from the master tapes.
Experience with Raul's Essential 3150
Might I ask why this thread is under analog rather than amps and preamps? I had heard of the thread but had to do a search to find it. I would have loved to hear it.
Passive Pre - No Regrets?
Gregm, thanks; so I guess the Silver Rock was the only TVC.
