Technics 1200G vs VPI Forever Model One
"I currently have a Mofi Ultradeck " MoFi Electronics MasterDeck Turntable Maybe worth looking into, since it's around the same price point as your chosen models.  MoFi Electronics MasterDeck turntable | Stereophile.com
Technics 1200G vs VPI Forever Model One
2 different "sound signatures." Technics will be speed accurate over the VPI. The 1300G has most of the 1200G and is less "DJ" looking. Get bored and put a nicer arm for another step up in performance. I would be comfortable with either for lon...
Mike's Barn.
Mike's system has that "sound' that every high performance setup displays even thru a not so great recording and cell phone speaker. The ONLY thing lacking is having a fabulous view of a spectacular  mountain  range or ocean view. A room of cour...
Rush 50 (Anniversary Super Deluxe)
I have a debut  Mercury press saved only because a roommate was a Rush head and gifted to me in 1981. https://www.discogs.com/release/5293717-Rush-Rush Moving Pictures was red hot, and I wasn't really  into Rush at the time. Roomie insisted I gi...
Traded Off my SLP-05
"my beloved Cary SLP-05 " If it truly was, you wouldn't have parted ways with it. The BHK was highly rated by both users and reviewers, but in the end no one has your ears. Your allowing needless audio neurosis take over before you even listen...
PrimaLuna EVO 400 v Cary SLI-100
Enjoy your new setup. You got a deal with the KT 150's. I use lower powered 6L6G NOS. A close enough compromise of EL34 mids and KT88 bass. When you get the itch, the 2 inner preamp tubes are the money slots. To my ears, the other 2 are a waste o...
Guidance on cartridge options or new table
You're listening to reissue LP's which essentially are equivalent to a file/CD. The digital setup is "better" than your table setup, so a different cart/table investment might be what's the bottleneck is? Phonoamp is competent.  Until a certain ...
Potential relief for tinnitus?
Longtime tinnitus. I believe I read about similar research couple years back? We are far away from relief, unfortunately.
Just about to pull the trigger on Pontus 15th ...
"Help me out here guys, is it MM, MC, or does it run both? It’s so small that I thought it might be a step up transformer." https://m.youtube.com/shorts/zOlhHakrKeE
The Insane World of High End Audio! Is it All a Scam?
Will the audiophile/audiophool demarcation line  ever be "defined?" I think...NOT!
Just about to pull the trigger on Pontus 15th ...
Audiophool "grass might be greener..." is uncurable.  Use it when you REALLY start opening the wallet WIDE$$$. Denafrips is solid. I use the Gen 1 Ares, but I'm an LP disciple anywho. Just looks like hyped up marketing of the CNC case/build. Do...
Specific SUT with unusual case scenario question from a LOMC N00b
The Google AI response: "For a .4mV output moving coil (MC) cartridge, you'll typically need a phono stage with around 60-62dB of gain. " As mentioned, I use the same PL unit as the OP and use a .4mv cart.  The OP should demo something and comp...
Specific SUT with unusual case scenario question from a LOMC N00b
Whew! Post is a little run on... Try the Red into the PL. It’s not going to hurt anythingng. I use the same model with a .4mv into a tube integrated On paper, a little low, suggesting I may be loosing out on full potential dynamics. In my setup...
Unipivot tone arms
On paper, unipivot is inferior. Properly setup and handled, you're not going  to "hear" its  deficits comparing it with other implementations. S.O.T.A. tables typically are NOT unipivot. Longtime VPI user.
Pure Fidelity / Rega
NOT a bad space to be in. Quite familiar with P10. Feel safe in saying anyone considering Rega at the highest level is getting their money's worth. PF appears to get positive reviews. If it were me, I would be looking at used stuff as well. I'v...
