Kind of Blue SACD on a whim.
"I'm going to follow the connections of the late 50s for a while."n80-50'-early 60's might be "the pocket" of the "straight ahead" heavy hitters. Enough to keep you busy for sometime. After that period, many supporting sidemen  ventured on their o...

n80-I'm in $20K deep... No mas! I direct all my audio OCD toward finding the best used LP these days. Since you're just getting your feet wet with Jazz discovery, you made a good choice with KOB.Just be prepared  if you ask for Kenny G recommendat...
tonearm cable, do you need one?
Some IC's may be noisier than others due to build(shielding) If you choose to not use phono   cables, just use a piece of wire  for the ground(table to phonostage). You may not even need it. My VPI doesn't depending on cart used for whatever reason.

"I just haven't been able to pull the trigger..."n80-there is someone using that stuff. Hopefully they hear everything the website claims! I bet there is  someone  using it on cables that cost LESS than the actual product. The best way to discover ...

"I'm not super finicky in terms of being an audiophile."That makes you the most enlightened here. Just enjoying the music.
New turntable: TW or Obama?
Geez, I’m not the brightest bulb often....Thread title and "Obama is the Chopstick capital of Japan."This is a double jeopardy knowledge association...huh?
What recording is this ?
Sometimes, your question is answered in the comments section of the video-:Ghost Rider - Make Us Stronger Interesting, not my cup of tea.Edit-that's the second cut-not the intro music
PS Audio P15 Power Regen versus Ansuz Mainz8 DTC Power Distributor
Demo a P15/20. PS Audio will only charge you the shipping if you don't like it.Ansuz just  looks like another fancy power conditioner with a website full of technical stuff to wow the reader. It isn't a  AC regenerator like the PP, so not a apples...
Interesting 2x2 grid to describe what a component sounds like ... do you agree
Nothing new here...Just another subjective opinion. Are the latest   digital "vivid/euphonic" meters being used?  I'm not swayed unless equipment is tested with them.
Help in deciding between these two cartridges for an upgrade
"I heard the differences/improvements as I climbed the phono ladder to end up at an Audio Research REF Phono 2 prior to getting the GSi75."dhite75-My guess is your existing setup is very good as is. If you keep AT carts in your final choices, the ...

This ISN'T a "one size fits all ears" guide. Just gives more perspectivehttp://www.cardas.com/speaker_placement.phpDon't forget-that undamped ceiling is a factor in attempting to tame a room. Look at any serious sound room-their are tiles on the c...

"Upscale doesn't even have them listed for sale yet, which to me seems odd"Maybe they haven't got the official "okay" from PL to say it's okay to use on "x" models, along with field history being a new tube?Call them to get an answer.
Second opinions — how have others (including non-audiophiles) helped you?
Its all illusion. Even the incredible $ystem$ in well thought out rooms. The best way to enjoy ANY system is to get some basic fundamentals in place(figuring where to STOP-that's the hard part) and stay off of audio forums.

robert53-discogs is a great reference to check the pedigree. Not enough info to check? My suspicion that is a later reissue. There were plenty of those around in the 70's.Is there a bar code on the back? If so, definitely a reissue. Not a bad thing...

Your gear if fine. It's your speaker setup(not your speakers) and room.If you don't have those things out 4-5 feet and 3+ feet from the side wallsyou're not hearing what they can do. Room itself addressed with appropriate damping/duffusion. Address...
