... Some of you must think that I must be out of my mind, but I have had some $25K turntables, $10K tonearms, $15K cartridges & $12K phono pre amps & what I am now hearing is almost as great (90% - 95%) as anything I have owned prior to p...

Unusual TAS bomb
I think, TAS made a mistake, they hired a reviewer who is not deaf and was able to identify a pencil after the first try. I am sure, this mistake will be corrected soon...
Does mfg's name/model affect your opinion of sound
I think the influence of model number is even more important. Audiophiles are willing to spend $1,000s just because it says "Mk II", "Reference" or "Signature". Audiophiles are willing to spend $10,000s if it says "Anniversary".Or Art For The Ear ...

Why does your turntable sound the way it does.
Sometimes I hire a retired medicine man for a dance around my table. After 30min of howling and dancing he leaves, I am ready for a critical listening and I think, it sounds better.
Purist Audio Break In - Venustas
Hi Last Lemming, strange. When I bought mine I got from the very first moment its sonic presentation and after "burn in" it just became a bit more in every sonic area but I never had such a dramatic sonic change from bright to smooth (or something ...

Purist Audio Break In - Venustas
The Venustas is not bright sounding, I think, some of your units are that way. That's all. When you want to avoid that "sound" you can compensate it with Cardas cables.
