PWB Headphones, any one hear of 'em?
Once they get their fora back on line, try asking this at head-fi.org.
ac cables falling out of IEC inlets on amps
It does pivot, Don_s, but it is designed to work with standard IEC ends. Sorry, I did not read your post carefully enough. When I google Marinco retainer clip, I get nothing of interest. Maybe contact Marinco? Or try PartsConnexion?
Do tube pre-amps need bias adjustments?
And now you do, Reedthis. Not in the conventional sense (user adjustable), but just like a ss power amp, there are internally ways to alter the bias=voltage at the tube (or transistor) of concern.

for some reason that link does not take you to the right page in the catalog, but its a Heyco #0915 IEC Safety retainer clip.

Markertek was wrong but if you google iec connector retaining clip, the first hit you get IS (drum roll, pls)....>http://www.boltproducts.com/heyco/iec-safety-retainer-clip.html, which takes you right there. Its not always easy to get them inst...
Stupidgood: Ars Sonum
Of course, what I mean is I'd like to hear one!
Stupidgood: Ars Sonum
Anybody with the Ars located in the northeast. I wouldn't mind pulling some $ out of my system fight now (VAC Ren-Joule VZN-80, VSM-MMs).

The aftermarket retaining clips ARE available- I have one on my 3910 for all the reasons cited above. I can't remember where I got it, but I would imagine someplace like Markertek (sp?).
Suggestions for stretching turntable belts?
A work around of course is to use your tt "pitch" or fine speed control with a strobe to compensate. Stretching is definitely not the answer. If fact, a good argument can be made that a stretchy material is not appropriate for a tt drive belt.
Do amplifiers deteriorate if not used?
The caps will definitely deteriorate but I don't know how fast.
Siemens CCa: Gray and Silver riser differences
Slightly off-topic, but not really too far....Does anyone have a link to a diagram of a tube with various parts named; IOW a guide to tube anatomy.
Best way to break in a tube amp? With cheap tubes?
For a tube amp, the best place to use the cheapies would of course be the output tubes. In most (but not all) pre-amps, tube wear is not a big issue as like span is often 5-10000 hrs. If yours is known to be a tube eater, then I'd also go with the...
It's Hammond B3 Organ Day
I will agree that the B-3 on Ronnie Earl's Blues and Ballads CD is outstanding. I was looking for the case before posting to get the name. That is one sweet CD with a great bluesy/soul groove. Just discovered it recently.
LCD Television Noise ???
A quality CRT can and usually will beat a quality LCD or plasma.
300B or 845?
Pubul57- I have used two different 300b SET amps in my 14 x 23 x 8.5 LR (with a large archway into a 2 level staircase/entry foyer) w my VSM-Ms. They are very nice for most of what I listen to (singer-songwriter, bluegrass, alt-country, folk, acou...
