Halcyonics under my tt. Wow
PS the improvement by adding Wave Kinetic footers is very noticeable but not to the same scale as adding Minus K to my turntable set up but we are not exactly comparing the same thing though. So take this for what it's worth.
Halcyonics under my tt. Wow
Metralla, Kinetic Wave footers work really well for me under Playback MPS-5. I prefer it over Rollerblock and Symposium Ultra platform. The background is blacker with Kinetic Wave. There is a bit more detail, a bit more focus with Symposium Ultra ...
Halcyonics under my tt. Wow
Thg, thanks for your input. I recently just got a Minus K for my turntable and I was amazed at the improvement. Now that my components are pretty much settled, I am working on shelves and isolation device next and Steelpoints definitely is on the ...
Halcyonics under my tt. Wow
Wow, I saw the price of Stillpoints Ultra Fives. I wonder, a set of 4 would be pretty close to a Minus K platform. Granted you cannot use Minus K easily in a rack except for the top one but for amps or anything that sit on the topshelf, wouldn't M...
Remove your bias for better sound
I agreed with VPI arm that no anti skating is by far the best option. However, for example my Reed 3Q arm, it does sound best with anti skating. With Air Tight PC-1 supreme, quite a lot of anti skating, with Lyra Atlas, a bit less but both sounded...
Micro Seiki, or TW AC-1
For what it's worth, Minus K does lift the performance of TW up quite a bit. Quite a step up from Symposium Ultra for sure but also at 3-4x the price.
Mc Anna , Lyra Titan or DynaVector XV 1s
Hmmm.. I have a slightly different take on Air Tight vs Atlas.I also have XV-1s in my system and I have to say that while it is excellent, big, punchy bass, big huge sound, it does not quite have the refinement of PC-1 supreme or Lyra Atlas. XV-1t...
I can't handle digital after analog light my fire
My CD collections still far exceed my LPs since I have been buying CDs from 1986 onward and only have been buying LPs for the last few years so I still listen to CDs and actually mainly my music servers for music that I don't have on LPs. However,...
Micro Seiki, or TW AC-1
Don't get me wrong, while I commented on not being able to get exactly 33 or 45 rpm on my TW according to Timeline, I am very happy with my TW. I compared both my VPI/SDS and TW using Timeline and Kab strobe, seriously you can go up and down a few...
Micro Seiki, or TW AC-1
Regarding Timeline, I agree that the step on TW motor control is a bit too big. VPI SDS give a smaller increment in speed adjustment. With TW, it was always either a little too fast or too slow. However, I use my TW without any center weight. I se...
Micro Seiki, or TW AC-1
Not to argue with anyone but I am really curious how relevant is the tapping test as far as airborne vibration is concerned?Certainly if MS does not transmit any noise through the cartridge when tapping, then it is more immuned toward airborne vib...
Gingko or Symposium Ultra Platform??
Hmmm... I have been playing around comparing gingko Cloud and Symposium Ultra a bit in my system using Microseiki/FR64s/Koetsu and VPI Classic 3/Dyna XV-1s . Microseiki is used with Symposium junior roller or spike feet on Linn Skeet and VPI Class...
Powercord on VPI Turntable & SDS ?
Yes, I also found PC to make a different, not huge as on pre/power amp but certainly well worth a few hundreds dollars .However, you have to be careful as the recess on the back of SDS won't let you fit a garden hose variety of PC with big plugs. ...
Electronic stylus force gauge question
Actually, I think good scale and countertuitive are actually very helpful. Granted VTF number is just a guide but good scale and countertuitive for VPI great strenght is about reproducibility. You can do everything by ears but sometimes it is a pa...
Electronic stylus force gauge question
Hmmm I thought it was the cartridge that interfered with the scale. The amount of time spent on the scale is very minor in comparison to the hours playing record so I never even thought about it. please don't give me another thing to worry about :...
