Room Treatments added, with negative effects.. In case you thought my response to Pbb was just to him, i have pasted my response to you in a seperate post.I am rather familiar with your speakers and the designer. I concur with much of his design philosophy and set up parameters. The Audio Physi...
Room Treatments added, with negative effects.. Pbb,I did not say that nearfeild was a panacea for anything. I said that it along with proper treatment will offer the best reduction of room interference. You on the other hand say that unless you wear the speakers as headphones nearfield is a was...
Room Treatments added, with negative effects.. To Pbb,Yes, I know how fast sound travels and have studied acoustics enough to know why nearfield is a valid method of reducing the effects of reflected sound. It is quite obvious you don't understand the "precedence effect" and how it works. It is...
Alternative to Avantgarde Uno? I have a "former" Avante Garde dealer who is selling his Uno's to buy VMPS RM40s from me.
Snell kIIs - LOST All my imaging - help I second reversing the phase on "ONE" speaker. One of your components, cables or wires is reversing the phase.I can make "any" system image, if it is in phase. If not...Frogettaboudit.It isn't the room, stands, or any of that.Remember just revers ...
Room Treatments added, with negative effects.. It is quite obvious that you are used to listening to your room, as well as your system.Assume a "nearfield" (7-9feet) listening positions adjust your speakers exactly on axis, leave all treaments exactly as they are, and be prepared to hear your ...
What speaker for Bryston 14B-SST? As a VMPS dealer I would hope you wouldn't be happy (well maybe you will) with anything less than the VMPS RM/x (2nd place HIGH END CES 2003)http://www.vmpseurope.com/e/p-rm-x.htmIt would love 900 clean watts to play with!

Which speaker is the master of IMAGING ???? If you "really" know what imaging is. The best at it is the VMPS RM40.
VMPS QSO 626 Ribbon Versus Josephs/ Tylers Well it certainlyis nice to have to choose between this type of quality.Your name looks familiar and I might have been the one who suggested the VMPS to you.To be fair, I am an audio consutlant, in Los Angeles and carry over 20 brands of speakers....
Full range box floorstanding recommend $3-5K range As an Audio Consultant, I would have to lean toward the VMPS. With your backround and AMP, the VMPS would be a natural progression "upward".At $4600 the RM40 is a tough speaker to match. I cant think of anything it doesn't do well in musical repro...
Usher and Kharma Speakers Did you not like the RM/x by VMPS???Or even the RM40?Cabinets may not be as nice, but sonically hard to beat.Regards, John
Got it pared down now - Revel, Dunlavy or Genesis? You must not have auditioned the VMPS RM40s....They are in that category. They might have changed the outcome. All the best,John
opinions on VMPS dipole surrounds ? VMPS DIPOLEs are actually bipolar in their radiation pattern. As long as you know the difference, they are great.I am a VMPS dealer and I use RM1s with DIPOLES "stacked" on top for a "TRIPOLE" and the surround perfromance is "unmatched".Regards,John
VMPS RM 40 or Coincident T.V. I have the RM40s and don't find the Coincident T.V.s compare. Please consider I am biased:1) I have RM40s in my personal system2) I am a VMPS dealer (as well as over 20 other speaker brands)But I have heard both and might offer the following:Placem... |
