Multi Disk CD Players?
Actually if your DAC has a delta/sigma type converter, the changer transport of choice is an Aiwa XC-37M or XC35M. They sold for under $100 new. Now discontinued, but left over models appear on eBay a lot.It sounds like the problem is with your sp...
What's Next After a Modified CD Player?
I have a Stan Pioneer DV-333 DVD player. I use it in my secondary home office system. When I originally got it, it was in my main system. I have compared it directly with a lot of CD players. It can hold its own against most under $2K CD players (...
Multi Disk CD Players?
Since your universe of potential players is very limited, you may want to consider an external DAC. Use your Adcom as the transport to power the DAC.
Power Conditioning for a mid-fi system.
Hi Dekay,I have a few Monsters I use to power part of the HT system, and a couple TV's and VCR's in bedrooms. They do clear up the TV picture and brighten the colors some.
Conrad Johnson PF-2L or Musica Fidelity A3cr
Detailed and lightweight does not describe the CJ PF-2L I know. In my home office system I still use the Motif model I believe it is based on. It could describe one that was not left on long enough for it to warm up/break in (there is no on/off sw...
Turntable and Phono Stage Help Needed
If you go with the MMF-7 a Lehmann Black Cube phono preamp is very nice and will keep you in your budget.
24/96 DAC + DVD Player - Help
Just because it is a 24/96 or 24/192 DAC means little by itself, regarding at what sampling rate it will play a CD. Without some kind up upsampling devise, a Redbook CD will play at 44.1 simply because it was made to play at that sampling rate.
Power Conditioning for a mid-fi system.
I actually use a Vansevers Super Companion for part of my HT system. One nice thing about it for a low cost device is the IEC plug, so you can upgrade the power cord on it.I use a Vansevers Reference 85 on another system with a Blue Circle BC62 po...
Bruckner 9th...
Oh...For a 9th, skip Von Karajan newer recording and look for his recording of the 9th from 1966.
Integrated amp to replace a MF Nu-vista M3?
How about a Musical Fidelity Tri-Vista 300. 350 watts per channel and 1dB more power than a M3. Kind of a like a M3 on steroids.
Onkyo VS Onkyo Integra
Onkyo dropped the Onkyo name from the Integra line in the mid 90s. They are now sold under the "Integra Research" nameplate. The website is....http://www.integraresearch.com/The Onkyo Integra models are definitely higher quality. The Integra Resea...
Bruckner 9th...
I agree the 4th Symphony is a good place to start with Bruckner. Then the 7th as well. For the 7th three good choices (all on Deutche Grammophon) are;Vienna Phil/Von Karajan, DG 429 226-2Vienna Phil/Giulini, DG 419 627-2Berlin/Jochum; DG 429 079-2...
Power Conditioning for a mid-fi system.
I am not a big fan of the Monster/Panamax grade conditioners. They are fine for a stardard HT system, but I assume you want to do better. The Chang Lightspeed are nice units. So are the ones by Audio Power and Vansevers. For a few $$$ more a Richar...
Best sub for VA Mahlers
It would have to be at least the REL Stentor, because any smaller REL would not go much lower. Is there a Tweeter, Etc. store in your area. They sell both Vienna's and REL'sYou could maybe have Tweeter demo them for you. Just keep in mind that a lo...
Need a good used tube pre $1500 or less
A used Blue Circle BC3 Despina would sell for around $1500.
