which speaker recomendations for this system...
Your system is pretty balanced. Have you thought about upgrading the electronics instead? What is your budget? Is music important to you? The Yamaha CD player could go and replace it with a DAC running off the DVD player for music.
CJ - MF2500 & SA400 Comparison
I would agree with getting the MF amp. It based on I once had the SA250 and later got the MF2250 which was noticeably better. The SA amps are great at their price point, but the MF are worth the extra $$ if you can afford it. FYI, I now have the B...
Any firms that do mod's to amplifiers?
Stan Warren will do amplifier mods also.

B&W Nautilus 805 small enough?
subwoofer comparision
The REL Q series subs (Q100E, Q150E, Q201E, etc) are their HT entries and still close to being as musical as their ST series (Stratus, Storm, Stadium, etc) The Q100E is a former Stereophile Class B and I mean their audio ratings, not the new HT ma...

Cryogenically treated cables
Stan Warren uses dry ice for all his mods and cables. He did tests with friends at a university in Oregon that had access to frozen nitrogen and they concluded dry ice is cold enough. So you can do it at home. If you call Stan Warren, I am sure he...
speaker phase
CJ does this because they would have to add another stage to the preamp to make it phase correct. Adding things to the signal path usually only makes things worse. Some Blue Circle preamps are this way also. My phono stage is out of phase for the ...
B&W Nautilus 803's versus 804's and 802's
For the N805 you will also have to get a really good pair of stands to really get the really good bottom end.
Consistency with power cords?
I have a Vansevers Reference 85. This is where I have a high end Blue Circle cord. The rest of the cords are standard Vansevers cords. My HT system has an Audio Power Pack II which is a great $230 conditioner. Also has a detachable cord. Even the ...
