Wiring two post speakers with biwire cable Turnaround: There is only a $28 difference between the list prices of the mono (single) and bi-wire versions of your cables, and the website only describes one type of construction of the internal cable, so they are definitely the same cables whet...
Scratched movie software vs. music CDs From my experience a scratched laserdisc will behave the same as a CD for sound (clicking sound, skips, etc, or if worse it locks up) and the same as a damaged or creased video tape for the picture (moving white lines, jumping picture from skippin...
Wiring two post speakers with biwire cable Caterham: A lot of cables are sold this way. Most of the Straightwire, Audioquest, Kimber, Wireworld, etc; you get the same cable whether single or bi-wire. The cost is usually only +/-$30 for the extra labor to terminate in a bi-wire configuratio...
Can I use the same cartridge for 78rpm? Oh, I see!! I agree 100%. I thought you guys just wanted to play them on something decent that would not damage them.
Best Long-Distance receiving Tuners Don Scott had a Rotel RHT-10 when I traded emails with him a couple weeks ago. He is asking $800. A Rolls RS79 for $300; A Marantz 112 for $125. Also a couple Marantz ST6000P he modified asking $450. Don's address is: bdscott@nac.netA great source...
can anyone help my dual 505-2? Also contact www.garage-a-records.com in the US.He may have them in stock.
Hsu or yamaha sub? I would get the HSU. Another decent new under $500 subwoofer is the Monitor Audio ASW-110.Used you might find a REL Q100E or Stratus II for a little over $500.
Best used amp for around 500 In no particular order there are: A Conrad Johnson Sonographe SA150 or SA250, or even better for a little more is the CJ MF2100. All are about 125 watts at 8 Ohms.Next there is the older version Bryston 3B and 4B amplifiers, still under warranty (...
Can I use the same cartridge for 78rpm? There are always lots of decent used Dual turntables on eBay that play 78s (not all models) for not much $$$.
Wiring two post speakers with biwire cable If your speaker cables are the same as the non-biwire versions you will not be shotgunning. Many brand of speaker wires are bi-wire capable. There are mulitple conductors (separate wires) per channel. All they do is segregate the separate conducto...
Would the Audio Aero Capitole better Theta I don't think the Aero is a giant killer when it cost $6000. It is a giant (and a good one).
Re thinking my system; where to start? Yes, the Aero is a nice CD player except for the $6000 it cost. I would also look at adding a DAC.
Can I use the same cartridge for 78rpm? You should get a 78 RPM stylus. If they make a 78 RPM stylus for your present cartridge that will do the trick. Or just get an Ortofon OM-3E cartridge for $40 and another $40 for the 78 stylus.
Wiring two post speakers with biwire cable You guys need to read his question. He asked if he could use biwire cables on non biwire speakers. He does not intend to modify the speakers to biwire.
Subwoofer for Audio System and H/T System???? The REL's are great, the whole line. I use a Q100E for HT and a Storm III in my separate audio system. The Q201E is the smallest (12 inch square). At the $500 and under price point check out the HSU VTF-2. |
