Cable Auctions by Manufacturers In my experience also, Zu Cable turns them around usually in a day, never more than 2 (except weekends).
Need an integrated with sub output. You basically need a preamp output for the subwoofer. If your subwoofer can also be run off the speaker terminals (such as all REL models); you can use any integrated amplifier. I actually prefer the speaker terminal method for 2 channel music list...
Small Room. Go for it or forget about it? Bob_reynolds......., in totally non-technical terms, a first order crossover is just a type of crossover circuit design.Basically the poster is saying to get speakers designed for "near field" or "close up" listening. You could use any speakers if...
Componets first, cables second? While I generally completely agree to upgrade the component first; I actually cannot answer you based on the supplied information. What do you own.??That $60 Toshiba SD-3950 DVD player used as a CD player sounds excellent even out of the box unmod...
Small Room. Go for it or forget about it? Go for it.....Remember, headphones are the smallest room.. :-)
Cheap DIY FM Antenna I will add to my comment on amplified antennas that while I don't prefer them; in Doyle's case if his problem is the building blocking the FM signals, then an amplified antenna may be his only choice.
Good sounding, small center speaker I can agree with Flrnlamb. I should have said that it helps some if you use a bookshelf center; to try to stay within the same brand; hopefully one with the same or similar tweeter. If you are using a center rear as well; you can use the same speak...
Good sounding, small center speaker Try using a "regular" bookshelf speaker for your center. I find they work better than most center speakers. For those with larger centers; I found that setting the output to small speaker improved the clarity of larger center speakers in my HT system.
Cheap DIY FM Antenna Just as an added FYI...The entire FM band is between the VHF TV channels 6 and 7.This is why the rabbit ears will work, or actually any VHF TV antenna.
Cheap DIY FM Antenna Yes...go with the $4 dipole at RS...Take no offense Doyle, but you live in Metro NYC where there are lots of stations nearby. I am surprised you need a amplified antenna, but I'll bet it is your building.Move to a more suburban or rural area and y...
Best place to source obsolete parts? You also try the Tuner discussion group over at Yahoo.http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/FMtuners/This Yahoo group is moderated by the same guys that run The Tuner Information Center.http://www.fmtunerinfo.com/Good Luck...
Best place to source obsolete parts? Did you ask them if they would sell just a few ???I find the answer is many times yes..
Best place to source obsolete parts? A good way is to Google the part number and maybe a couple key words if you get too many unrelated hits.A lot of people post their available parts lists, which Google usually finds.
Cables to top binding posts? Yes, that is the way I would do it. Nothing technical, but simply that the you are more likely to notice a difference in the mids and highs if they get the jumper; while you are not as likely to notice a change in low frequencies. Ultra low freque...
Review: Motif MC-8 Preamplifier Hard to believe, but the CJ PFR preamp is actually a "cheaper" copy of the Motif MC-10.The closest thing to the MC-8 is probably the PF2, but I do not know how common they are.I have owned the MC-8, MC-10 and PFR. The MC-8 is on the warmer side of... |
