What's wrong with classical music on vinyl? Albert, one I could buy used for $200 used. There were on each side a finger print. So the pre-owner did not know how to handle vinyl, or didn't care. But the condition is very good consider the price. Two of the boxes I got for $400 (sealed) each...
What's wrong with classical music on vinyl? Albert,I perhaps did exaggerate a little bit. But lately I bought 4 of the 5 Classic Records 1S boxes. There are some records which have goo or scratches or lots of clicks/pops on them. And you can not send them back. After all I am happy that I c...
What's wrong with classical music on vinyl? CmkI 100% agree. Although the process before pressing counts for vinyl as well. There are a lot of bad vinyl. And unfortunately you can not judge by the label. You have to buy them and find out later what is good and what is junk. Although I have ...
What's wrong with classical music on vinyl? Cmk,A comparission between CD and LP from the same recording is a problem. I have Moussorgsky's 'Pictures At An Exhibition' on 45rpm, 33rpm 1S and SACD from Classic Records. All the same recordings. And the SACD sounds rather blanketed. A lot of b...

What's wrong with classical music on vinyl? Jphii, oh that notorius process of upgrading stopped with my Zyx.;)Sufentanil, I have quite a number of Reissues. And they sound great. Since I have the Classical Records Box sets I know how good my system can sound. And how mediocre the originals...
Spacedeck Vs. Scoutmaster Spencer, as far as I know it F = Fuji X = copper wires H = High Output (0.48mV) . The Zyx is still burning in, 5 hours at the moment. But what I can say so far is that the sound stage is wider and deeper. The highs are still closed. I guess this w...
Spacedeck Vs. Scoutmaster Why not getting a good cartridge ? I just moved from a Denon DL-103 to a ZYX R-100FXH for my Spacedeck/SpaceArm. I don't think that any TT upgrade could have made such a big sound improvement. Just my 2 cents.Rudi
Which turntable should I buy? I just moved from the Thorens TD-810 to the Nottingham Space Deck. I could not be more happy. Rudi
MMF5 or Rega 3 used? Yes. Get one of those old Thorens, like a TD-316/318/320. They are as good or even better than the MMF/Rega, IMO. I am not talking about the new Thorens.Styx

What readily available LP's should I consider Mrmb, I just got blown away by Ravel: Bolero - Herbert Von Karajan - BPO - MFSL 1-513. If you can get it, buy it. I had luck and got it for $17.Styx
What readily available LP's should I consider Rushton: I like the 'Mendelssohn: Symphony 3 ‘Scotch’ & Fingal’s Cave Overture' so much that I already ordered the tickets for the live concert with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra on Nov, 18th. Thanks.Styx
