Can you tell the difference between a $200 and a $200,000 guitar?
How many musicians can afford a $200, 000 guitar?  Those are strictly for collectors. 7K will get you a wonderful instrument.  2K used will get you a very good one.  @soix  Not "dumb" !

@mahgister , @tablejockey Thanks for all the links. Discogs seems to be the most complete and easy to access. I listened to Art Pepper's "Intensity" last night. I couldn't remember when I'd last spun this disc, but man, did it sound good.  I ...

@dayglow Terence Blanchard followed Wynton Marsalis both New Orleans born but Wynton is an impossible act to follow. I prefer Woody Shaw but can't think of any of his recordings that might satisfy the OP's specific parameters.

Market Stabilization?
This is not the place for political rants. There are plenty of other forums online for that. And from a practical standpoint, you're unlikely to change anyone's mind in this highly polarized political climate.
Anyone listen to entire albums?
There are of course popular albums that feature tunes that take up an entire side or tunes that run together. I guess if one’s tastes inclined toward am radio and singles-oriented Pop, one might be more inclined to buy albums for the hits. Best of...
Best Covers
@bdp24 I’ll check them out. I recall seeing Lauderdale with Lucinda Williams on her second ACL show that also featured a very young-looking Kenny Vaughan. I bought "On Your Side" at one point but it didn’t find it very engaging. Maybe I need t...
Anyone listen to entire albums?
As a rule, I only buy/keep cds I enjoy all the way through. I've made my own anthologies of artists whose albums are inconsistently appealing to me, such as Led Zep and Rory Gallagher but these are very much exceptions and I rarely play them.   ...
