Tonality of Jay's Transport?
@mosler666  Thanks very much for your comments, including the warning about its sound prior to burn in. I don't have much flexibility in terms of speaker placement so I hope that's not going to be a sticking point. This is not an issue I've enco...
Does Anyone Buy Schiit for the Sake of Schiit?
If someone has been sold a faulty component and the manufacturer has failed to make it right, the buyer is fully justified in complaining. But to phrase a question as though it's simply soliciting opinions when the language employed already  sugge...
Does Anyone Buy Schiit for the Sake of Schiit?
Seems to me , this type of thread is always going to attract guys who have a grudge or else an unfounded bias or have heard something negative somewhere . . .   they're happy to pick up a rotten banana and hurl it whatever the brand in question mi...
Tonality of Jay's Transport?
@jafant  Bet you thought I'd never make up my mind!  ;o)
Tonality of Jay's Transport?
@jaymark  Good to know I'm not the only one who's had issues with that aspect of the RS2. As for synergy, it's been my experience that we can never really be sure how components will behave together until we actually hook them up, press play/dro...
Tonality of Jay's Transport?
@charles1dad  Terrific! Thanks for dropping in, Charles!

@djones51  Just to clarify, I'm not advocating that Clapton's shortcomings should be excused or overlooked because he's a famed musician, merely pointing out that nearly everything in this world is a mixture of opposites or put another way, deepl...
Tonality of Jay's Transport?
@jaymark  My aim is to balance the two presentations (voluptuous vs. analytical). I've tried gear in my system that has pushed it to one extreme or the other, on various occasions. I believe it's just as worthwhile to hear, first-hand, what we d...

@djones51  "Then again,  I'm not wholly off the deep end with the conspiracy theorists and racists either."  Something you and I have in common, then.
Tonality of Jay's Transport?
@jaymark  Many thanks for your on-point response. I am seeking the type of presentation you ascribe to the Jay's and will therefore order one. Best wishes, Stuart

@djones51  History is littered with individuals who've made substantial contributions and yet are not wholly admirable as people.  Then again, I can't claim to be wholly admirable, either.
DAC Merry Go 'Round- why I stopped at Weiss
Glad you ultimately found something that pleases you.  At the same time, I'm grateful to not be afflicted by the extreme "allergy" to digital sound you've experienced. If I could only be satisfied by gear with the price tag of a Weiss, I could ne...

@mijostyn  "The problem with EC's playing from my perspective is I always seem to know which note comes next which for me makes him boring" Fair enough-- each to his/her own.   "We are sitting on the brink of a nuclear war, getting as close as ...

Clapton has always acknowledged his debt to the Blues masters whose phrases he painstakingly learned by copying one phrase at a time off records, listening, then trying to duplicate what he'd heard , then moving the needle back and listening again...

@bdp24  I was enjoying Bloomfield's LP into twin tone just a couple days ago on "My Labors". There's nothing wrong with Garcia's circa 1972 strat into twin tones, either!
