What cartridge for MMF-7? The problem is, is that my budget is really tight and even the TT is a stretch. I was hoping, in the substitution solution, to get a used cartridge for now. The same with going cheap on the phono stage. I am just overwhelmed by the sheer #'s of ch...
What Instrument do You Play? I studied piano as a child for about 8 years and cello for 3 (around the same time.) Left them both for electric guitar as a teenager, for fun, and euphonium in the High School band. Studied shakuhachi in my twenties and now full circle back to th...
Mozarts boomy-help I am not familiar with the speakers but with the problem. I solved it by placing the speakers on aurios. I originally had my speakers on the supplied spikes on rubber and metal spike shoes, then tried better spikes and now on the aurios everything...
How to isolate aurios to reduce glare? Well in the end all it took was to replace the glass shelf with a 3/4" maple cutting board. Polycrystal cones under it, aurios on top and cdp straight on the aurios. Guess I kinda like it a bit bright. Thanks for all the suggestions. Who knew you ...
How to isolate aurios to reduce glare? I've tried a few of the suggestions and so far have found that the polycrystal cones on the aurios, cdp atop that, sounds the best. I have to put them point up unless I turn the aurios upside down. The only problem now is that the Rega is a manual...
Linn Ninkas now Aktiv but a couple questions. Just a final note. I recently took off the spikes and put them on Aurios MIB's. I had to move the speakers out to about 17"-18" with a toe in of about 1/4" from the rear wall and they sound great!! The aurios really add definition to everything.
Linn Ninkas aktiv vs. not? Aktiv and Loving it. A big thank you!!
How to isolate aurios to reduce glare? No offense taken. I have thought of just selling them but I'm gonna try these ideas out first. BTW, I just read in an article that glass is "the worst" thing one can put their gear on. Hmm. Thanks for all the suggestions.
How to isolate aurios to reduce glare? JD, I discovered the problem after buying (here on A'gon and they're in the mail) the 3rd set. So now that they're on the way I though I'd get a few tips from others who have cured the problem. I did like some of what they did but it seemed like t...
How to isolate aurios to reduce glare? Great ideas, thanks. A couple of notes... The isopods are actually vibrapods and the Aurios model I have is the first one with the large opening not the small dimple in the top so I think I can't use the ball bearings.
whatz up with hi-end speakers near walls? It's not the thinking aloud that is the problem with this post but the statements to the effect of others are wasting their time and money by having different equipment and set-ups. I'm not defensive of my system and invite criticism, but construc...
whatz up with hi-end speakers near walls? You're wrong. It's been said already in Lugnut's post but my Linn Ninkas are designed to be close to the wall. They are not a ported design and the close-to-wall design is to support the bass. If you don't believe me I can send you the Linn litera...
Upgrade to Linn Klout s or go active ? I have Linn Ninka's with two LK-85 amps. I just made them aktiv 5 days ago and I suggest you go aktiv. I don't know much about the benefits of getting the Klout but do know the benefits of going aktiv. Go aktiv.
Linn Ninkas now Aktiv but a couple questions. Have been moving the speakers around with great success. They are balancing out. Thanks. And a note for Samir, I have taken out the Blue Heavens and put the Linn IC's back in. I see your point about balance but I have grown fond of the sound from ...
