Help! New TT skipping badly....
Try wedging a piece of wood tightly between the wall and your turntable table.   This has cured this problem many times.

How to isolate turntable from footstep shake or vibration
Try this.....nearly cost free.   Put a piece of wood between the wall and your turntable table....Wedge it tightly and it will work.

MillerCarbon said that solid state needs 2 weeks in "on" position to sound its best.....tried it, didn't hear much difference from power amp, but the preamp is a bit better.

Many problems like yours have been fixed by wedging an appropriate sized piece of lumber between the wall and the turntable support.  Easy to try...bet it works for you
