Wayne Shorter Has passed Been busy all day, and just found out. He was a giant, leaving a great legacy. Had the good fortune of seeing/hearing him live a couple of times. Feel the loss, but he'll still be with us.
Which preamps use 6922/6DJ8 tubes? @mulveling Good catch! My sincere apologies to OP (and everyone else) for not checking info before posting. That's on me, as I've had to fact check this thing a couple of times; so I should've known better. Thanks for your contributions to the a...
Which preamps use 6922/6DJ8 tubes? I’ve been experimenting with ChatGPT Artificial Intelligence model with a few things (audio included); so I thought it might be interesting to see what AI had to say. Heaven knows I’ve been steered in different directions based on members’ persona...
Protip: Using a sub? Plug your mains @erik_squires , thanks so much for this tip! I felt compelled to chime in with positive results. Used a couple of sock pairs to plug port in right Tekton Enzo XL. It has really cleaned up and tightened bass. Plugging both speakers was a little bit...
Full range speaker recommendation @blackbag20 +1 I generally refrain from commenting on something, unless I have firsthand experience. However, in this case there is a bit of reference and context. I met Jim Salk a couple of times at audio shows and listened to his different mo...
IS there such an animal? @reubent +1 Oppo players play pretty much ALL formats. Plus, all one has to do is "turn off" video processing and go pure audio only. In other words, video circuits are present but not engaged. Good luck, and Happy Listening!
Capital Audio Fest Notes @rdk777 +1Thanks for sharing @bhvf .
Peachtree GaN 400 vs Class D Audio Mini GAN 5 Thanks @pinwa, I was hoping someone would do what you've done. Finally, we have a head-to-head comparison with the little Class D GAN 5 in the mix. Your contribution is much appreciated.Happy Listening!
Another Node2i Question Couldn't get my Node2i to even connect properly going straight wireless. Added a TP-Link Deco Mesh System (~$100-$150 on Amazon); connected mesh dot via Supra CAT8 ethernet cable to Node2i, and voila! For the most part, seamless streaming and grea...
Recommendations for a modestly-priced audio system? Okay @facten, I'll go ahead and make a "generalized" statement" too: The budget is the budget.Obviously, without the BT requirement, there are any number of used amp options that would work. Used speakers can be had for a bargain as well. New is a...
Recommendations for a modestly-priced audio system? Not trying to bring out the flame throwers, but Tekton Design has a couple of models that might fit the bill for speakers: the Mini Lore ($630) and the Lore Reference ($825). The downside is delivery time. Took awhile to receive my Enzo X/L's. It ...
Sellers: When do you drop your price? @yogiboy +1@stereo5 +1@jdoris +1 A lot of views and no offers clearly indicate pricing too high and/or not enough demand to generate offers near the asking price. Also, there does not appear to be much of market for that particular brand. If...
Node 2i performance suggestions pls SQ definitely improved by adding Cullen C7 PC and Supra CAT8 to my Node2i. But putting Network Acoustics ENO filter in the mix took things to an even higher level. This thing is not so much a "tweak" but more like an equipment upgrade.A-gon member...
AGD Audion GaN Class D In The House +1 @twoleftears well said. Thanks.
Jazz listening: Is it about the music? Or is it about the sound? IMHO, with jazz you get both – good music and good sound. Like @whipsaw mentioned, Rudy Van Gelder (Blue Note) engineered tons of material from the bebop/hard bop/post-bop eras. Several other labels had good production quality as well, like Presti... |
