Emo dumps Carver, the Carver site is down. I heard that Carver dumped Emo, not the other way around. The dealer for Carver is now Underwoodhfi. Here is the new Carver site:http://bobcarvercorp.com/
Carver 180 vs 305 I have'nt heard the Cherry 180's, but I just purchased a set of the Black Beauty 305m's and I am very happy with them! You wouldn't believe it but they drive my big Magnepan 20.7's without breaking a sweat! They are rich and warm, very musical ove...
Magnepan 1.7 crossover capacitor improvement? Sell the 1.7's and buy a used pair of 3.7's; much less work overall and the 3.7 is a far better transducer in every respect. The 3.7's will sound 'smoother' than the 1.7, have better bass and mid-range magic, and are better intergrated; the panels...
Wilson Sophia vs Usher Mini Dancer II That is my impression also; overall I think that the Wilson's are more 'accurate' and detailed, a tad bit tighter in the bass but not as full or musically expressive.
Any speaker have the similar sounding of Wilson Yes; Usher and they are less expensive too...
Wilson Sophia vs Usher Mini Dancer II Girish, tell us more; why did you choose the Ushers over the Wilson?
Wilson Sophia vs Usher Mini Dancer II thankfully i have a dedicated room, so speakers sitting out into the floor is not a big issue. I have a pair of Magnepan 20.7's which sit approx six feet into the room.
Wilson Sophia vs Usher Mini Dancer II Did you ever try the BE-10's with tube amps? My room is 17.5 x 26 x 9, should work okay the BE-10. Wonder if that size room could handle the BE-20? There's a pair of 20's for sale on AG...
Wilson Sophia vs Usher Mini Dancer II After further research I am leaning more towards spending more and looking for a pair of good used BE-10's; a good bit more money for sure, but a more capable speaker overall, and better at playing true full-range
Amplifier Input Impedance It is true that the Hovland has a pretty nasty output impedance which is just as unforgivable as exceedingly low input impedance monster amps. My point is only that this hobby hs quite enough challenges in producing great musical sound in the home...
Wilson Sophia vs Usher Mini Dancer II so, you feel that the Usher is the more 'muscial' speaker?
Amplifier Input Impedance Recently I was in the hunt for a really good set of 'muscle amps' to use on my Magnepan 20.7's and it was a little frustrating to see just how many big-name powerful SS anps have atrociously low input impedance.
Amplifier Input Impedance But, a good designer could in fact design a powerful SS amp with a high input impedance if pushed...
why dsd I'm on my third DAC, just recently purchased a MSB Analog DAC and I have been playing all types of file formats, 16 bit, 24 bit, with most of the various bit rates, and both PCM and DSD and I have also used several different player software progra...
Tube rolling for EAR 912 The 912 is an excellent do-all pre/phonos; one of the very best and is on my list as my next (retirement) pre. I have been told that you can 'warm-up' the overall tone of the 912 with some choice tubes. Two possible contacts that may be willing to... |
