Just a tip  on the optical cable.  Before plugging into the target component make sure you can see light coming from the cable.  If you don't see any you won't get a signal.
Can someone tell me what wrong
Just for some folks info not sure if it applies in this case.  I had a ground issue once and I solved it by connecting the ground wire of my Rel Speakon connection to the Preamp.  The left and right channels were being driven by the speaker outs o...
My thoughts on TT isolation methods.
I built one step one go to granite shop pick an appropriate sized scrap piece, Step 2 picked up a 1 inch thick sheet of MDF, Step 3 cut up an old yoga mat and glued it between the properly sized marble and MDF piece.  Clamped them together and let...
What's the best and/or favorite piece of equipment you've owned? And do you still own it?
Pair of mono blocks made by a local guy Dave Herrin (Portland Oregon).  They just keep playing good music.
High end stereo preamps? Worth it?
I recently picked up a Tag McLaren preamp and I am tickled with the sonics and build quality.
I blew up my receiver. Now what?

Is Wife Acceptance Factor (WAF) sexist?
Good grief next we'll be hearing about systemic sexism.
Good entry level cables
Blue Jeans cable.  They are based in Seattle you can get a 6 foot pair of LC1 with RCA connectors for about $50.  They are low capacitance so they do not filter highs the way higher capacitance cables will.  They manufacture them when you order.  ...
Are cables really worth their high price because of their geometry?
Audio cable companies are such a small subset of the wire electrical wire industry that it is highly unlikely that a manufacturer of cable will be able to justify the cost of producing a different weave of the stranding of the cable.I had a Coda F...
