Focal Sopra 2 v. Sonus Faber Amati Futura
For about 10 years I owned 2 pair of speakers. 1 pair was loud and dynamic, put the drum kit right in the room and were my rock speakers. I had another pair that were better at resolving the finer details at the expense of slam and maximum spl. I ...
Yamaha NS 5000
Thanks for taking the time for the write up. Yamaha must be trying to control the pricing uf the speakers by selling at big box stores. Shame since there's usually very little to compare to and those half glass rooms just suck for demoing music pl...
KEF Reference 207/2s or Blade 2
My experience with Kef uniq is more power better. I sold my R107/2 last winter. They still had world class bass, but the mids and highs were showing their age next to the newest hifi I had. The Blade intro by Kef the first showing used 2 JC1's per...
Great Rock System on the Cheap (ish)!
My favorite rock speakers were the bose 901 vI once I got the bass locked in. hanging from the ceiling 2'x2'x2' down and in from the corners. driven by a 55wpc realistic receiver.LOL the tens of thousands I've blown trying to match that level of s...
Blown away with 2 speakers hifi sound!
If you mean your hearing things on a recording for the first time because of the speakers, sure, otherwise I have no idea what you mean.
Kanta 3 positioning
Wouldn't it depend on the distance from sidewalls? When I had them home they were 5' off one wall, but only 3' off the other so I toed them in a little to reduce audible reflection. For whatever reason I have the dreaded black hole at my listening...
Recommended speaker for second system
Kef r300 has an additional bass driver the ls50 hasn’t got.
Kanta 3 positioning
Contuzzi has some experience with the kanta’s. How do you like the bass in your room?
Wilson Sasha 2 or Alexia for small room 10' x 17'?
This thread is a couple years old now so op is probably long gone
Polk vs KEF
I owned the R105/3 for 25 years. I sold them a few years ago for $650. 93.5 db eff is the highlite, Amazing midrange, pitch definition, dynamic range etc. The compromise is the bass can't keep up with the rest and replacement tweeters are nonexist...
In need of advice on speaker choice
Room size and type of music, volume, if you had to pick between deep bass, loud volume, transparency, go out and get a feel for what you like and then come back and shop for deals
Borresen Acoustics Speakers - Have you heard them & what did you think?
Cdc2 you’re in the wrong thread.
Meridian dsp
My speakers have been around awhile, the meridian dsp8000. They have absolute phase adjustment, 5 step axis tilt, bass and treble controls that go in .5 db steps and EBA that delays mid and tweeter response to so all fq's arrive at the same time, ...
Active stand mount loudspeakers
wouldn't it make sense to also sell powered dsp speakers alongside or at least optional.
Meridian dsp
I supposed I could have titled my thread 'Why do they sound so good in the store?' and when I get them home they sound wrong. After around 8 pair (probably more) of full range passive speakers let me down I rolled the dice on a pair of DSP speaker...
