Revel Performa F228 Be speaker... thoughts? My problem with revel speakers is that while their wide dispersion design is great for HT they need more power than any avr is going to have and I just don't find their soundstage convincing for 2 channel. your results may vary.
So I just bought a Hegel H390 and I've driven the usher be20dmd, persona 7f, kanta 3, VA strauss, salon 1 and salon 2 and currently the Kef Blades and the only speakers the H360 couldn't manage were the salon 2. Unless I can score a H590 I'm set.
So I just bought a Hegel H390 and The salon 2 was more than my h360 could drive otherwise the integrated has been great. Streaming tidal with a pc or iPad was awful and I bought a dedicated streamer and now the onboard dac is good, yours is better, more resolving. Sonus faber migh...
KEF Blade 2 as replacement for Reference 107/2 Bump, What ever happened? I had the R 107/2 for some years and it took a lot more $$$’s to find a pair that were an appreciable upgrade.
B&W New Diamond Series? Some dealers suggest it’ll take til 2024 for manufacturing to catch up to demand. Sellers market!
Magico A3 price increases 50%+ I was reading an old review about the dsp8000’s where JA asked Bob Steuart why they didn’t make the speaker time coherent and his reply was this xover topology was the one that sounded best. Could it be that simple with the A3?
10" self powered sub-woofers..... Paradigm subs even the most affordable line use ARC room correction and it's usually easy to get a discount on their stuff
Magico A3 price increases 50%+ The A series is entry level Magico, if you want better parts go up the line. Compared to the biggest names in loudspeakers it appears magico follows the same business model
Vienna Acoustics 'The Music' I bought a pair of Kef Blades since starting this thread and while I know the two companies have different target sounds, part of the VA appeal is the voicing by Peter Gannister, I take it you could never quite eliminate the midbass hump? pm me wi...
Pairing advice What do you currently have? B&W does have a rep for voicing their speakers tipped up in the top end. Consider your room acoustics and type of music you listen to.
Sonus Faber vs Wilson I'm sure we all can relate. Why not enjoy what you currently have awhile? It usually takes me 9 months to a year before the shine starts wearing off a new pair of speakers and resale value isn't going to change in that time.
Advice on a streamer I use a roon nucleus but there's a use fee above the purchase price.
Tidal is corrupt ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Integrated Amps - another thread... It's been awhile since my ADS L9e speakers, but I remember them and I think at your $3k point Rogue audio would be worth a try.
How do reference speakers rank to today's standard I got 25 years out of a pair of kef R105/3’s and I was rocking 104-114 db daily. Stepping up from those cost me a fortune. I think inflation has moved much faster than progress wrt loudspeakers. While I’m not familiar with your brand I doubt anyth... |
