Factory service for products from the 90's I don’t understand why anyone would expect to get a 30 year old or more piece of equipment fixed. Would you try that with a 30 year old car? If you want to be able to get service almost forever, look into McIntosh. They are very reliable and th...
How to ■ break-in ■ Clock Cable ■ @jasonbourne52, I have a Esoteric UX3 which uses a r to r ladder dac, the PCM1704 dac. It is the best sounding and most analog sounding dac (to me) that I have ever heard. I was told by 3 different people in the industry that they felt it is ...
Killer vintage 70's, 80's reel to reel to add to my setup. You can pick up a Teac A3300 for less than $1500.00 used and they sound great and built like a tank.
Has anyone puchased from Virusa recently? Wow, sound like the company/person is not a good guy. The only person I truly trust for phone cartridges is the guy going by the name of “Kron”. I bought a new Dynavector DV20X2L from him and it was brand new in a sealed box for $400.00 off ret...
Hot Rats I have the album, and I have completely worn it out. Excellent music, more Jazz influenced than Rock.

Is Mark Levinson still considered up there with the best of the best? +1 twoleftears.

I remember their disastrous sounding first digital amp for a lot of $$$. Could take your ears off. I rushed out to hear it as I was very interested. One of the brightest and driest soundin...
Chris' latest cables. @t_ramey, Chris told me about them when I was researching cables. I ordered a pair on the spot.
Horns You may want to read the thread on Viking speakers. The last post was a week or so ago. A longtime owner vented his frustrations with a pair of speakers he bought (his fourth pair).
Chris' latest cables. I have a pair of V Twist cables from Chris. I bought specifically to go between my preamp and power amp. His advice was perfect, exactly what I was looking for.
Celestion Ditton 66’s. ‘Upgrade’ to modern speakers consequences? I owned Ditton 66's in the late 70's They are quite power hungry speakers and that is probably why it was recommended you upgrade the amp. It does depend on the room size and how loud you like it.
Does remote control degrade the sound of tube preamps? After owning 3 preamps without remote and now having a remote preamp, I would never change.
What do you use to keep high gloss speakers clean? Damp microfiber cloth followed by a clean dry microfiber cloth. No issues ever.
Website glitch???? If running Windows, use Adblock. It blocks 90% of all the annoying ads. It’s free too. |
