McIntosh c2700 users please chime in? @cleeds,Sorry but I don’t agree with that. I frequent the Mac forum daily on another site and I have yet to hear anyone who has bought a current Mac component say the got a discount. Many have asked for one but no one has received a discount, un...
Magico vs the world @erik_squires,For once, I agree with you completely on the sound of Magico vs other brands. Seems like we heard exactly the same things. I could not have said it better myself. +1. I wish you would give GE another chance, it may change your min...
Remember the Jafco Catalog? I sold a lot of that equipment at the audio store I worked in from 1972 to 1985. Brought back great memory’s. I remember how proud I was when I bought a Sony TC377 R to R recorder and later on got a Teac A3400S R to R at a salesman accommodation...
Bryston 3b3 or Cary SA-200.2 I had my Modulus 3, 3A and 3B connected to a Classe amp which was good and later to a Odyssey Stratos amp which seemed to be a most perfect match for the preamp. It was a dead quiet system with excellent dynamics.
Legacy Wavelet as Preamp/DAC/DSP vs just DSP You can ask Audio Classics, they are a huge Legacy dealer and I believe they have them set up on the main floor for listening. They would know for sure. They are still answering email at this time.
Aragon 2004 The Aragon amp you are looking at was built in Connecticut by the company that was building Mark Levinson at the time. It is an excellent amp and a steal at that price. I would buy both and make monoblocks out of them.
McIntosh c2700 users please chime in? If you are buying a new C2700, expect no discount. If it’s a C2600 or C2500 which have both been discontinued than expect a discount. McIntosh is very strict with the pricing on current equipment and most (notice I said most) dealers won’t give a ...

Teflon Cap upgrade or new set of NOS tubes for conrad johnson PV12A Preamp? @erik_squires ,I believe the OP wants Conrad-Johnson to do it. The Teflon caps are made by CJ or are branded as such and everyone who has bought the unit with the better caps says it is worthwhile. They also take a few hundred hours to break in.
My list of seller red flags I did a trade once, never again. Got burned on a Dynavecter MC Cartridge. I took it in trade plus cash for an amp I sold. When I went to install the cartridge a couple of months later, I found the suspension had completely collapsed and the ca...
Whats playing on your system today? @ozzy , that’s amazing. I was very much into them when they were together. Is it true that all the other original members are no longer with us?I distinctly remember buying the “Kick Out The Jams” record the first day it came out. I hurried to ...
Whats playing on your system today? The MC5, “Kick Out The Jams” 1991 re-issueThe MC5, “Back In The USA”one of my biggest regrets is never having been to one of their live concerts. When they came to my area, I was very ill and didn’t go. A BIG regret. Waiting for Wayne Kramer’...
My list of seller red flags I agree! I will add “vintage” to something that is 20 years old. IMHO, vintage should be from the Golden Era, not something made in 2000. Another turn off is “email or call for price“. If I have to go through the time of playing phone tag or waiti...
