Off-topic: question on custom wiring car audio controls There are lots of high end car audio shops around. I would call one in your area and have them wire it. One wrong move and you could burn out one of the many computer chips new autos have.
Refurb GAS Grandson amp or put money towards another amp? I had a Son of Ampzilla back in the late 70’s and wish I never sold it. There used to be a company called gaslight that repaired GAS equipment. I met James Bongiorno once at an Audio show. He was quite flamboyant and was playing Jazz on the piano...
Scratched woofer surround rubber I have received brand new woofers from Scanspeak that had more scuffs on the woofer surrounds than those ELAC have.
Magico M9 The new 'norm' in speakers I see lots of armchair critics here talking about something they have not heard. I am sure they will sell every one they make, there are a lot of very rich people in this world. This is the same as the Audiophile group I am in on Facebook. As of l...
Ever feel like a "low dollar" customer that your dealer doesn't think worth their time? There was/is a particular store in Framingham, MA that treated me that way. Thousands were spent in the store and always in cash, never asked for a discount and never got one. Sometimes they went out of their way for me when I was buying somethi...
Luxman 509 or McIntosh 8900 I have never heard anyone who owns McIntosh say they were fatiguing sounding. If anything, they are warm sounding.

Big source improvement using CD player I find if I use the Sony server, I don't listen to the entire album. I am always skipping around. With the CD player, I listen to the entire disk. That in itself is much more relaxing to me.
In your experience, what is the best Pioneer Elite units of Audiophile quality? I used a PD65 for 20 years and I loved the player. Unfortunately the laser fell out ( it’s glued in) so I dumped it. Are the later Pioneer Elite CD Players as good?
Which one to choose between two 80K$ tube amps? I thought it was just me with Skyfi I sent them a very polite message saying they were doing a big disservice by saying the Technics SL1200 MKII they were selling for a lot of money is the same as the Technics SL1200G which is a completely differe...
Big source improvement using CD player @roberttdid,My Esoteric player is dated 2008. Ralph at Spearit Sound told me it was the third best player he ever heard, the other two were made by DCS. I really didn’t believe it at the time but this player sounds so right. The music server is...
Which one to choose between two 80K$ tube amps? There were 2 or 3 items I was looking for that Sky Fi was selling but I am blocked from the site because I called them out on a blatant lie in one of their offerings. The items are still for sale. Too bad as I really wanted them. |
