Has anything changed with Grado cartridge re-tipping? No more Needle Doctor....
Markup on cartridges are usually 100% based on the Shures, Pickering, ADC and Ortofon I sold in the 70’s and 80’s.
Schiit Freya + and reel to reel question
Don’t think so.  That’s the problem with budget preamps, not many features to keep the cost down.

The needle clinic is an excellent source for retipping. I sent a ZU Denon mc cartridge to them for retipping and suspension collapse and received it back within 7 business days and the price was very reasonable and less than Soundsmith. Soundsmith...

All New Magico A5 Loudspeakers // Biggest "BANG" For Your BUCK On The Market ?!
@patcrowley57,when you said you spent a few days with the S5II, did you have them in your listening room?  If you did, why audition a speaker you say you can’t afford?  Doesn’t make sense.
Frustrated McIntosh Owner
Glad you are better.  I love the C2500 for its sound, versatility, build quality and pride of ownership.  For myself, it is good enough that I am happy with all aspects of it.  I feel that way about all my McIntosh treasures.

@oldhvymec,You are scaring me with the report on your C2500. I have had one for 3 years and love it.  I hope mine doesn’t suffer the same fate as yours.
Question/Advice About Isolation Feet for Speakers
@puppyt,  No I did not have to.  The footers made a huge difference with my speakers placed as is.
Question/Advice About Isolation Feet for Speakers
I am usin the GAIA II with their carpet spikes under my GE Triton Reference speakers and they really helped dial in my system.  Best $700.00 I ever spent.  Well worth it.
turntable recommendations
I had a Rega Planar 3 in the mid to late 90’s and found the sound to be quite lightweight and uninvolving.   I also had a serious hum problem with table and my Sumiko Blue Point ( the nude cartridge).  I moved on to VPI and was happy for about a d...
