Opinions on Pure Note cables 4yanx, although good right out of the box, in my case they took exactly one week of solid burn-in time before they really came alive.I forget PN's recommended burn-in time. Something like 100 hours. And they were right on the money time wise.
which is better, Sony SCD-1, or SCD-XA777ES? According to the reviews, the SCD-1 still has a very slight lead.If you're looking for 2-channel only, then the SCD-1 is the best option because of it's slightly superior sonics, built quality (it's a 56 lbs. tank), and aesthetics.-IMO
Amp and pre for Aerial 10ts Steve, I believe I mentioned this before. I would recommend you purchase a used McCormack DNA-2 for about $1800 and send it to McCormack at smcaudio.com for a Rev A or Rev A Gold upgrade for $2500.Phenominal speed and bass and much more. With this...
Sonic Impressions: Vandersteen 5 vs 5A I've heard that the 5A's are quite a bit better. Even as good as the earlier 5's are.I have a feeling it's mostly due to the genius behind the engineering marvels for the tweeter.-IMO
Opinions on Pure Note cables I'm enjoying several pair of the Epsilon Ref. XLR ic's. And they've matched well with my Audience Au24 sc's.
What cables would you recommend? Ohlala, I'm sorry. Do I know you?BTW, killer system you have there.
What cables would you recommend? I'm going to take a wild guess and assume your goal is to improve the sonics of your system.I've had excellent experience with the Pure Note Epsilon Reference XLR ic's and Audience Au24 speaker cables and 6inch jumpers. Both are very reasonably pri...
Clarification of biwire, biwire shotgun, etc..... Based on my experience (who else's?) I've come to the conclusion that determining single-wire v. bi-wire differences is like chasing windmills. I would recommend demo'ing and/or buying the best, most highly recommended/reviewed cables you can get ...
cable suggestions for new system I agree with Philjolet. In time past, most cables sounded quite similar in my system. Sure there were micro-dynamic differences, but they were just that. Micro. Some of those differences may not even have been improvements. They were just differen...
Cheap tweaks...What would YOU reccomend? For those of you who have floated the ground for all of your components, re-connect the ground for the pre-amp only. This was recommended by a friend numerous times. In my case, I noticed a definite improvement in resolution and decay as well as an ...
Please help I have a strange grounding problem Glad to hear you've determined the ground loop hum issue. With regard to the AC filters, I'd like to suggest you consider the Foundation Research LC-1 and LC-2 in-line power conditiners.Though not inexpensive, the LC's begin to look inexpensive wh...

What goes where? Loose, can you afford a couple of circuit breakers ($100 or less) and some 12/2 romex ($12)?If so, then you could add a few dedicated lines yourself (assuming you know how to do it). Dedicated lines are not a direct substitute for power conditione...
Recommendation on Balanced Interconnect Alex, sorry but it's difficult for me to recall exactly all the improvements I noticed. Primarily because within a week or so after the PN burn-in, I received my new Audience Au24's sc's, and then a week or so later, my DNA-2 Rev A amplifier. And ...
Recommendation on Balanced Interconnect I am using Pure Note Epsilon Reference XLR ic's for my SCD-1 and for my amp and am quite pleased. see purenote.comI demo'ed the Pure Notes based on what I've read about some others claiming they are better than the Valhalla ic's. Don't know if tha... |
