Can sibilance be eliminated?
Is anybody here claiming to have actually removed essentially all negative sibilance (except for that which is in the recording itself) from their playback system? Or are we simply theorizing here?-IMO
The Great Cryo'd Outlet Test
Is this a test? Hdm, I'd be happy to try the outlets. But first let me share the electrical setup I have:I have three dedicated lines going to two seperate FIM non-cryo-treated outlets. One outlet has been split so that my 20 amp line (amplifier) ...
The Great Cryo'd Outlet Test
How 'bout sending me that worthless bit of snake oil? I'll take it for a test drive. I'm currently using FIM audio-grade non-cryo-treated outlets.-IMO
Can sibilance be eliminated?
To the best of my knowledge, sibilance is used to categorically describe a certain type of sound ie a hiss, whistle, s, sh, and in the case of audio, perhaps including certain sounds that certain cymbal strikes make or perhaps sandpaper blocks.The...
The Great Cryo'd Outlet Test
I think I stated in a previous post that I noticed barely audible improvement immediately after installing the one cryo-treated ICE. It was not until perhaps 48 hours later (24 hours of system uptime/burn-in) that I noticed the surprising improvem...
The Great Cryo'd Outlet Test
Dmoffitt, both are Hubbell 20amp IEC connectors. The one from Jena Labs is cryo-treated.-IMO
The Great Cryo'd Outlet Test
Eldartford, hopefully my previous post was taken tongue-in-cheek. At least that was the intention. Sorry for any offense. But it is interesting that you noticed no difference. My experience with cryo-treatment only started two weeks ago and that wa...
Can sibilance be eliminated?
Yes, assuming the negative sibilance is not in the recording itself, it can be entirely eliminated through proper AC line conditioning assuming you have a certain caliber of components.Although vibration and resonance control can perform wonders i...
The Great Cryo'd Outlet Test
Now, now, Eldartford. If you were truly objective in your observations (are any of us really?), you would also allow for the following potential scenarios/conclusions associated with your findings:1. Your hearing is not what you think it to be.2. ...
A Picture is Worth ...
Ozfly, here's what I would do:Use a graphics program to create the diagram and save it as a .jpg file. Then upload the jpg file to your Agon virtual system page, save the url for that jpg file from your virtual systems page.In your next thread or ...
120 or 240 AC current, Which one do you like best?
Hepl, unless you are an electrician or really, really know what you are doing, I would suggest hiring an electrician to install your 230v circuits, breakers, and lines.-IMO
120 or 240 AC current, Which one do you like best?
I've never listened to a 240 conversion, but I would really like to one day. Supposedly lowered AC noise and a more pristine sound and greater sense of relaxed or effortless presentation are some of the effects of going to balanced power. You may b...
Best Amp/Preamp Combo for around $6K?
Try a McCormack DNA-2 Revision A amplifier and Pass Labs X-1 or X2.5 preamp.-IMO
What Mods for a pre/pro to become a good preamp?
Yada, you might still consider setting aside all of the decoupling (dampening and isolation) paraphinalia that you've invested in and try the less expensive coupling methodology. If, and I believe it is so, the coupling methodology (using Star Soun...
What Mods for a pre/pro to become a good preamp?
Agaffer, the P30 is the previous model of Primare's SP31.7 (or something like that) current model pre/pro. They've done some number changing on their models. You're thinking of the new Pre30 which is Primare's 2-channel preamp. The Primare P30 real...
