Pitch problem. Help If you are putting everything through a Power Conditioner then this could be the issue. It is not a good idea to put your main power amp and your turntable both through the Power Conditioner.I did some research on this and it seems that this is a c...
Pitch problem. Help It could be because the mains power at certain times is less than it should be i.e peak hour and subsequent draw on the power grid. After 11PM at night it will sound pretty good.Other times bad.You can try mains power conditioning to fix this.
Vibration Isolation for Rega P3 You could use Vibrapods.A Standard,2,5 under each foot of the Rega.Heaviest 5 at the back to the Standard where weight of the table is least.Acrylic platforms are O.K.
Rega Planar 2 upgrade vs. Planar 3 It's much cheaper to do the motor upgrade and if you have good speed stability I don't think the performance would be that much greater.
Record Cleaners / RCMs To tell you the truth I think the cleaning thing is overdone. Your Linn dealer gave you what is reasonable advice for clean records.I have found that a dirty stylus can veil a lot and if you use something like the Linn green stuff or the White Mag...
Dense, powerful sounding TT, decent top $3500 max? How about an idler-wheel drive especially for classical.Check out Loricraft Audio in England.http://www.garrard501.com/
NAD PP2 or Project Phono Box MKII I think the Project and the NAD retail for about the same amount and my first jump would be to the Project. The Project is a more recent design and the inside componentry is bluntly..superior.Having said that, the NAD runs off a DC supply and if you...

Analog experiment You know I found that when Lp's were sounding like Cd's and you couldn't tell the difference it was because my turntable set-up was incorrect.Usually too much tracking weight and not spot-on,and the VTA was out as well.I also agree with much of wh...
5 tables one choice, opinions please For classical I think timing should be extremely important. So which of these tables has the best speed control?
Grado Prestige Gold or Ortofon OM 30 Super The Grado Prestige Black is better than the OM 30 so I think a Grado Gold would obviously be better.
Mounting hole on GL 75 too far right for Linn LV X Yes,you can file the hole to the appropriate dimensions.Make it round if you wish but I would get it that extra centimetre closer.I made a small wood piece with a hole to support the arm from underneath with a Rega arm, experiment here. But if you c...
NEED SYSTEMDEK IV E INSTRUCTION MANUAL The vinyl engine website has manuals for these tables if you haven't seen them already. Here is a link http://www.vinylengine.com/library.php?make=Systemdek If those are not suitable you can post there.
VPI Scoutmaster - Anti-skate again.. Is your tonearm parallel or thereabouts to the record surface when your playing vinyl?
Cartridge Advice Sought There is new review of this turntable http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/project3/combo.html They recommend an Ortofon Rondo Red.This is what the reviewer used to extensively investigate the RPM 5.This could be your next move. |
