What in the world is going on..... Too many posts!
What in the world is going on..... I would be considered crazy by most but I still think it is over the top to pay a high price for a piece of wire. I know that there is a difference but the law of falling returns comes in somewhere. I have a very good system and was a moderator at...
What in the world is going on..... I have always liked Burl Ives. He didn't have much of a voice but he could put lot of expression in singeing.
What in the world is going on..... I have heard things on my car radio that sounded great but bad on my system. You just don't expect to hear that much on a lesser source and your ears fill in the rest. A simple system just gives a different experience than a complex one. In Japan...
What in the world is going on..... No, no! the better the system the worse bad records sound. The sound is accurate so you hear it warts and all. When I was a dealer I was often ask for a system which makes everything sound good. It is easy to get a system that makes everything sou...
What in the world is going on..... All depends on the recording. They can make good ones if they try. I have the LP of "will the circle be unbroken" and have listen to it since the 70s. Years ago I got the CDs and they were unlistenable. Then they came out with a remasterd version ...
So Long It's Been Good To Know Ya I have spent 4 or 5 years being sick and switched to an LP 12 so my info is probably way out of date. I like the LP12 better but they are a lot more trouble and I spent a lot of money on upgrades. Not from Linn, their prices are absurd.
So Long It's Been Good To Know Ya I was using several VPIs and found changing the standard feet for brass made a good difference. Also I used small points under the motor after I removed the feet. I never had the nerve to try the rim drive. I didn't put anything under my SDS and d...
Cables for GamuT L-5 speakers? I also have the L5s.
Cables for GamuT L-5 speakers? I was using Cardas gold reference but I have moved and they are too short. I used several jumpers and some bare silver wire was the best. 10 ga I think but I did not see that on the net when I checked for it. I have some alleged Siltech but I got ...
Gryphon Vitus Gamut I have the Gamut L5s and they are very good. I used them with a CJ 350 but had a minor fault and while they were gone I had a chance to get a Gamut 200 mk2. It sounds very good so I may keep it. Have not heard the others.
So Long It's Been Good To Know Ya Star Sound Tech. I was a dealer for some time until I got sick. Look at their web site. They have brass feet that will screw in when you unscrew the factory ones. I used several others including the small points. Not cheap but very well made and e...
So Long It's Been Good To Know Ya I was a VPI dealer for years and there are some things you can do to make them sound better. Replace the aluminum feet with brass ones. I put some small brass points under the motor to isolate it.I did some other things but I would start with thes...
Need Suggestions for speakers up to $15K new/used My Gamut 5s were quite a bit less than $15,000. There are just too many choices at that price. I would go for some main stream speakers at a good price so I could change without a big loss if you change your mind. Most of these I have never heard ... |
